Sequel to 'I think I wanna marry you!'

13. The Arrivals

Harry's POV

Today was the day! The students coming for the Triwizard Tournament were arriving today! Classes were ending early today and we were going to meet our guests.

It seemed to take ages for the bell to ring. When it finally did, everyone grabbed their bags and went to the dorms as fast as possible.

Everyone gathered in front of the castle. Taylor and Savannah were conversing in front of me. Every now and then one of them would give a little squeal. I wondered what they were so excited about.

Addy was next to me.

"Hey Addy! It's been a while," I said casually

"Oh! Yeah it has..." She said while biting her lip

"You okay?" I asked her with worried eyes

Her eyes darted around the crowd.

"Yeah! I'm fine! Everything's good!"she said with a smile I could tell was fake plastered to her face

"Somethings up. What's wrong?" I said while staring her down

"Nothing!" She said with a more genuine smile, "I'm fine, Harry. Really."

I gave it a rest and looked back to the sky. Still no sign of the other schools.

"How do you reckon they're coming? The train?" Ron asked

"I doubt it," Hermione said before he could answer

"How, then? Broomsticks?" Harry suggested

"Probably not, not from that far away," Addy chimed in

Then Dumbledore called out, "Aha! Unless I am very much mistaken, the delegation from Beauxbatons approaches!"

Many students looked around eagerly, "where?"

"There!" A sixth year called pointing over the forest

Something larger than a hundred broomsticks, was heading for the ground.

"It's a dragon!" One of the first years shrieked

"Don't be stupid, it's a flying house!" Dennis Creevey shouted

However, it was neither. A horse-drawn carriage pulled by a dozen winged horses the size of an elephant landed in front of the crowd of students.

A boy in pale blue robes came out of the carriage and unfolded a set of gold stairs. A woman the size of Hagrid with a handsome, olive-skinned face; large, black, liquid-looking eyes; and a beaky nose stepped out of the carriage. A few people gasped.

She was dressed in black satin and opals gleamed at the base of her throat and thick fingers. Her hair was pulled into a shiny knob at the back of her head. Her name was Madame Maxime

Over a dozen boys and girls in their late teens, were all standing behind her, all clothed in fine blue silk.

Dumbledore welcomed them to Hogwarts and invited them into the warmth of the Great Hall.

After what felt like hours later, Lee Jordan called out, "The lake! Look at the lake!"

Everyone's heads turned at the great bubbles forming in the center of the lake. A whirlpool appeared as a long, black pole began to rise out of the surface.

A magnificent ship rose out of the water and glided toward the bank. An anchor was thrown out of the ship as a plank was lowered to the ground.

People descended the plank towards the group. All of them seemed to be built like Crabbe and Goyle. But as they came closer, he realized that their bulk was really just the fur cloaks that they wore.

The man in the front, however, wore a different fur. His was sleek and silver. The mans name it turned out, was Karkaroff.

"Harry," Ron hissed beside him, "Harry, it's Krum!"

Indeed it was. Harry turned and saw the curved nose and thick black eyebrows of Victor Krum.

The whole way back to the Hall, Ron jumped for joy from seeing Krum.

"Krum, Harry! Victor Krum!" Ron exclaimed

"For heaven's sake, Ron, he's only a Quiddich player," Hermione said

Ron was shocked.

"Only a Quiddich player? Hermione, he's one of the best Seekers in the world! I had no idea he was still at school!" Ron said

They walked by a group of giggling sixth year girls wondering if Krum would give them an autograph.

In the hall, the Beauxbatons were sitting at the Ravenclaw table. The Durmstrang students eventually settled at the Slytherin table.

Savannah's POV

The students from both schools had settled down when the food appeared. There were many new items on the table.

"Must be to make them feel more at home," Taylor said poking a dish that looked like dried steak

Two boys from Durmstang walked over to us. They had both taken off their cloaks and were staring around in awe.

"Excuse me, ladies," one with dark hair and brown eyes and with a very heavy accent said, "Are you going to eat zat?"

He pointed to a bowl of noodles with meat and vegetables stirred in.

"Um...no. You can have it," Taylor said looking at the other boy who was blond and also had brown eyes

"Thank you," the blond boy said with a lighter accent

"Anytime," Taylor and I replied together

When they had sat back down, Taylor and I broke out in giggles.

"Oh my gosh! They were so cute!" Taylor gushed

"The blond one you were checking out was totally into you! I didn't see his eyes leave you once!" I said nudging her

"I was not checking him out! But really? You think so?" She replied with a smile

"Definitely!" I squealed

"What about the other one? I don't think he came over here for the food!" Taylor said glancing over at the boys

I did the same. The boys were both talking and glancing over here. Taylor and I both blushed at the smiles they gave us when they saw us looking.

"Even if he was over here for me, I can't like him remember? Harry? Ring a bell?" I asked still smiling

"Oh yeah....well...sucks to be you!" She shrugged

I snorted.

"He was pretty cute though," I said with a fake pout

Taylor laughed.

Dumbledore rose from his chair and silence fell.

"The moment has come," he said his eyes twinkling, "the Triwizard Tournament is about to start. I would like to say a few words of explanation before we bring in the casket. Just to clarify the procedure that we will be following this year. But first, let me introduce, for those who do not know them, Mr. Bartmius Crouch, Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation"-there was polite applause-"and Mr. Ludo Bagman, Head of Department of Magical Games and Sports."

The applause was much louder for Bagman than Crouch.

"Mr. Bagman and Mr. Crouch have worked tirelessly over the last few months on arrangements for the Triwizard Tournament and they will be joining myself, Professor Karkaroff, and Madame Maxime on the panel of judges that will judge the champions' efforts" Dumbledore continued "The casket, then, if you please, Mr. Filch."

The casket was brought forward. It was encrusted in jewels and looked extremely old. From inside it he pulled a wooded goblet. The second it touched the table, blue flames rose out of it. Everyone was in awe of it.

Dumbledore went on to explain the rules of the Tournament, but I got a little sidetracked by the goblet. Taylor had to shake my shoulder to get me to realize it was time to head to the dorms.

We caught the eyes of the two handsome boys from before as we walked out of the Hall. I looked back again before we walked up the stairs and the dark haired boy winked at me. I walked up blushing, than scolded myself for feeling like this when I had Harry.

Than I saw him leaning over the railing gazing down at a group of Beauxbatons girls, and didn't feel quite as bad. Taylor and I continued to giggle about the new arrivals the whole way to the dorm.
