~Three- Twenty~

A constant hum of electricity sounded from the too bright lights in the furniture store that Tear drove us to. The two of us already picked out bookshelves for the apartment along with a collapsible dinner table. Since the apartment was a bit small we decided to find ways to save space and make it not so suffocating once everything is put into place. It will be a pain in the ass to go back home and build the shelves though but everything will be worth it.

Roaming around alone I left Tear in the electronics department to look around. Before leaving the house Tear gave me a debit card that was in my name and told me that there was money put in here for me and my paychecks will be directly deposited in this account as well. Since I just joined Crimson Dagger there wasn't a lot of money but I didn't plan to spend all too much. The importance of money was well known to me and I wasn't going to waste it on useless things.

In all honesty I only brought the card along with me now just in case I spotted something I found that I wanted to surprise Tear with. The idea to get him a gift occured to me while I was people watching with Tear after breakfast after and seen two people hanging out, one of them gave the other a small present. I thought of how much Tear was doing for me, how much he risked in the beginning and even now, and how much he was caring towards me. But I also wanted to go beyond Tear and find something for everyone. They all took care of me, saved my life, given me a purpose to live.

At the beginning I thought they would have been people with questionable morals but now after getting to know them I realized that they are probably more caring and loving people than majority of the population. They hid it well underneath appearances and calculating eyes, but if people got to know them better it would be known that they were amazing people. It didn't go unnoticed to me how they were looked at out in public or how they didn't bother to care about how they were looked at.

Rounding a corner into a different isle I spotted a familiar face. He was looking at looking at a painting with an artistic eye. A smile spread across my face and I called out him name, walking towards him. "Benjimane!"

He looked in my direction and returned my smile, quickly embracing me in a hug when I reached him. I have known him since last year although he was only on the streets for two weeks before joining a gang. Every now and then he would pop in and say hello and always offer to take me with him when he left. Benjimane was the type of person who everyone loved to be around and talk to, he was caring and protective about those who he befriended. He took a liking to me but never in the romantical sense, but it felt as if he took on a big brother roll towards me.

"Three Twenty!" He greeted then let go of me. Checking me out I could tell he picked up on the fact that I was being taken care of instead of being homeless. "Looking good there. Finally get off the streets, eh." It wasn't really a question but more of a statement. Nodding he hugged me quickly again. "That's wonderful! I really was worried about you, you know. When I checked in on the place you have been frequenting latley and didn't find you I was worried you died or something."

It warmed my heart to know that he still cared about me. "Don't worry, I found a place to stay. Hell, I even found a job for me and friends." I told him. With that news he done a little victory yelp and shimmy. A laugh was drawn out of me as I remembered just how extra this man was. "I missed you and your extraness. I am glad that we bumped into each other, but what are you doing in this kind of store?"

A grin cracked his face and he turned back to the painting he was looking at earlier. "I just moved in an apartment complex around here and need to find things to put in it. I don't know how long I am going to be stationed here but hopefully it will be a while since my task seems lengthy." He said. It shocked me how much he let me know about his moving and job. Since he joined a gang he kept on the downlow about what he was up to and didn't tell me anything about what he has done or will do.

At times when his eyes were hollowed out and no soul was there he would come to me for consolance and to try to be hiself again. When that happened I tried to get him to talk about it but he sworn up and down about how he couldn't tell me and how unbelievable it would sound even if he did. Of course when I told him that I would not doubt him and try to help him anyway I could he just went quiet and leaned into me for support. It was as if we had years of friendship instead of weeks.

Then I realized that he said he moved into around this area which was close to Tear's and mine home. "That's great! I live around here to with my boyfriend. You should come meet him." I told him and grabbed his hand to go find Tear. Instead of moving he stood still with a frown. "What is it?" I asked.

"Maybe later. I have to leave now and I am in quite the rush to. I just looked at the time and have a place to be in twenty minutes. Let's meet up again soon, bye." He said and gave me a quick good bye hug. My heart dropped as he let go and turned to leave. "Oh, Three Twenty?" He looked back at me.

Curious I tilted my head a bit, his tone sounded serious which hardly ever came from him. "Yeah?" My heart pounded wondering what he was going to say.

"Don't do anything reckless. You have a heart as soft as a baby bird and I know that you want to do the right thing all the time. Trust me, I know what it's like to try and do the right thing even if it feels wrong sometimes and it can slowly kill you. You are a dear friend of mine Three Twenty, but for future reference don't stand in my way." His voice was solemn and so much unlike him that it sent shivers down my spine.

Before I could ask what he meant he disappeared from my life once more. My head was spinning with what he said and I tried to understand his words. What did he mean by not standing in his way? It sounded as if he knew something that I didn't and that whatever it was, it was something terrible. Shaking my head as if physically getting those bad thoughts out of my head I tried to focus on finding something for Tear.

My eye caught something small and glinting from the bright lights. It was picture frame set of three and with closer inspection I found it to be in the shape of tear drops. My mind went to Tear and how suiting the shape was for him. Right away I knew that I wanted to get this for Tear. I could put a picture of us together, the whole gang, and another in here for our home. If we could paint the walls this picture frame set could be the finishing touch to call this our place.

Grinning to myself I moved to the front to pay for this before finding Tear and purchasing the rest before going home. After I got it put into a white bag I went to the electronics to find Tear paying for the things there along with a docking station and a small iPod. "What's this?" I asked him when I got beside him.

He looked down at me with a little grin. "For you when you get bored at the house. I'm going to get Glasses to put music on this for you and you can listen to it when you find it too quiet without me." He said before kissing my head quickly. Automatically my heart swelled and felt warm from his affection and I thanked him. "And what do you have?" He looked down at the bag in my hands.

"A surprise. I need to do something with it before I give it to you though." I said. The cashier gave Tear his reciept and we left the store. "Getting the bookshelves set up and everything rearranged in your house is going to be the death of us." I groaned once everything was put into the back seat or the trunk of the car.

"Not really. I was talking to Beanie earlier and he asked what we planned to do today so I told him. He said he is going to drag the other two with him and come help us out and bring food and drinks. I guess everyone is taking a day for themselves right now, or just tonight." He replied. With just that I was almost moved to tears and I forced myself to look out the window to hide them. Who knew that I would end up having such good people in my life? Friends, a partner, a home. It was a dream coming true.
