~Tear Drop~

"Why are you following me?" The question came out more harsh than I planned it to be. I intended to be alone for a moment so I can come up for a reason as to why Three- Twenty knocked down any wall that I put up and caused me to become oblivious to anything and everything except him.

When he tried to save me and when he believed in me wholeheartedly I was utterly surprised. The boy who I thought was too weak to stand, the boy who survived two doses of Angels Blood in less than a day was able and willing to fight for me.

I was still in awe of his power and how his eyes shinned gold or how his tears were so breathtaking. When he revealed himself to us he looked so pure and innocent, as if he was an angel. That's why I couldn't believe my ears when he called himself a demon. His fear and sadness, his guilt and regrets out on display like that forced something within me to want to protect that boy even more.

"Did you find out what he is afterwards?" Beanie asked. "I sensed his power a block away and it even overwhelmed me from that distance. His eyes are strange too, I never seen anything like it. Of course you know that since you were so close to him."

How he said that last part irritated me and I felt a small tinge of blush on my cheeks. "No. I don't know but he is less human than we originally thought. Taking two doses at once takes a toll on anyone and a lot of people die from it, yet he somehow survives and comes out of it feeling refreshed and looks even better than before in just a few hours."

Beanie nodded in agreement. He watched me as I cleaned my face without saying a word until I was done. "Why are you so protective of him? You don't act like yourself around that stranger."

"I know and I am still trying to figure out that part. Of course he reminds me of my old self but there is something more..."

"He also reminds me of Giggles." That name hurt when he spoke it. The image of Giggles stained my eyelids and caused  various emotions to course through me, the most prominent being love and sadness. Nodding in response I understood the similarity between the two. Both were small in size but was self- sacrificing to. The wonder in Three- Twenty's eyes when we were walking or when we passed the musician perfectly reflected Giggles. Could the similarities cause me to become so defenseless and attached to Three- Twenty?

If so I needed to control myself better. He was not Giggles, no one could be. Giggles died and would never come back. I knew that better than anyone else could. "You need to settle this situation before the others come or before it gets out of hand." He warned me.

"I know." I said and walked out of the room. Heading upstairs Glasses was sitting on the couch reading in the loft. "You're not with Hammer?" I asked.

Noticing my presence he looked up. "He doesn't want to be disturbed." He informed us. Usually if we get new people all four of us would be in the conference room, so what was Hammer planning? Why did he want Three- Twenty alone? Too curious to ask I started heading upstairs.

"Where are you going?" Beanie asked.

"To the office desks." I lied. The room was right next to the conference room and with my panther ears I would be able to listen in. As I went up the stairs the two didn't bother me. Inside the office room I put my head against the wall to listen. "-Twenty." It was that boy who I heard.

"Why do you go by a number? Did your parents not name you?" Hammer asked.

"I never needed a name, the number was all I needed." His voice was void of any emotion, as if he was purposefully blocking them.

 "Why? Explain."

"The orphanage I was at replaced any name with a number. Mine is Three- Twenty."

"How old are you?" I listened closely to this one. Three- Twenty's age could be anything. A couple seconds passed before Hammer asked if he didn't know.

"What's the date?" Three- Twenty asked.

 "October fourteenth, twenty- seventy- two."

"Twenty one. I'm twenty one." Holy shit. Three- Twenty hardly looked that age, the most I would have guessed was nineteen. Most likely Hammer was questioning the validity of this, just like I was.

"You said you were at an orphanage, yet Tear found you homeless. Did you not go to college or university?" I waited for a response but didn't hear one. "What do you think you can do for us?"

"I can't tell you, I don't know what you do or what there is for me to do. I am sure if I get taught anything I could to it. So please give me a chance until I can figure out how to be helpful." Three- Twenty said.

I was taken aback. He was so honest and was determined to help. This kid... Three- Twenty was full of surprises. First he survived the Angels Blood, he managed to fight back against Hammer despite his fragile condition, and now he was showing what kind of person he was without hesitation.

Lost in thought I realized that I was missing them talking. "-ember what happened?" It was Hammer who was talking.

"No." What were they talking about? "I hope that I wasn't too much of a hassel." The way Three- Twenty said that it seemed more of a question than a statement.

I waited for Hammers reply. "I can't tell you. If you have any questions about it ask Tear himself. He should be in the room next door." Shit, I was caught. "As for the rest I will have Tear and Beanie train you in combat. Glasses will fill you in on any needed information and I will have you start ghosting around. Meaning you will stay with someone throughout the day and figure out what they do and more about this place, until you regain strength and until you can find out what you can do to help us."
