Dragons and Insanity.

You've heard Ashley's side of things, but you didn't think the other Legend just sat around while Dragorina did all the work. I, Arceopogrin, have a lot I do myself. However my style is different. I'm more serious, but what I'm about to have to deal with, well, I've got to change my style a bit. And my temporary partner will definitely test my patience as we race against the evil Pokemon to find the dimension's last dragon...

5. Gears Turn

We arrived in Lockstine on Steamroc. I had just teleported there, because we've had enough issues and time wasted. Lockstine was the closest place to Melancholy Hill. We'd need to walk all the way there to minimize detection.

Everything we had gone through had went through my head. I still had so many questions. The train incident, the books, the place. None of it fit together.

And then there it was. A great rune of old rusted clockwork. The hill was mostly a mass pile of giant ancient gears, massive screws that stuck up like pillar columns, and the gears half buried in the ground resembled walls. It was like a junk yard, yet everything felt as if its location was purposeful. We approached slowly. Nothing.

"And yet another waste of time," Freemon sighed.

"Well, well, well...look who finally decided to show up." There was a cackle. A lady with hair of embers and burning white eyes stepped from the dark. "Oh, do you not recognize me? Don't tell me you thought we're as basic as our predecessors! You aren't the only ones able to change form."

Everyone froze in their battle stance.
"Rushing things, aren't we? I'm sure you have questions." A girl in pink stepped out. "It'd be a shame for them all to go unanswered." A magenta aura surrounded her as the books were lifted from our packs and levitated in the air. The pages flipped open and circled around. They shuffled around, and then surrounded the lady.

A shrill scream of laughter echoed around the area. "NOW, TO SHOW YOU REAL POWER!" She glowed as she turned into her true form, as an evil Ho-Oh. The books spun around her as she laughed. Copper and steel plates lifted from all around and attached themselves to her.

"SSSSCCCCCREEEEEEE!," she cried out, and shards of metal shot out in all directions. Even I had been pushed back by the blow a bit.  Brandished in her new armor, she mocked us. "HA HA HA! I AM INVINCIBLE! I HAVE TAKEN ULTIMATE FORM! WITH THIS MECH FORM, NOTHING SHALL STOP ME! AND THE FIRST TO GO! THIS HORRID UNIVERSE!"
   "GO TO HELL!" Freemon charged.
"NO, FREEMON!" I screamed out, but was seconds too late.

The Ho-Oh smacked Freemon back with a ball of molten steel. He crashed against a gear, unconscious.

She laughed hysterically. "I was planning on taking out "Wonder-Bird" first, but second will do fine."

I tried to send out commands to the others. "REESES, TAKE CARE OF FREEMON! THE REST OF YOU GO AFTER THAT OTHER EVIL POKÉMON!"

Before we could take action, something happened. Wrenchy, which had fallen from Freemon's hands lifted from the ground and began spinning and glowing immensely. Then it just stopped, floating. A ticking noise could be heard and a side flipped open, and another and then many at once.

"WWWWWWWOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!" Within a moments notice, this tool that what was thought to be a basic hunk of metal, had unfolded itself and now stood before us as a great mecha dragon!

And then it hit me. 'The last dragon-'

"YOU CAUSED ENOUGH TROUBLE ON THE TRAIN! I WILL END YOU JUST AS I DID YOUR CRAZY LOVER BOY!" the Ho-Oh roared with a menacing intonation.

Wrenchy smashed into the evil mech Ho-Oh in rage. Biting and clawing, sparks flew and the sound of clanging and scratching metal filled the air above. Wrenchy glared at me struggling to pin down the powerful foe. 'Freemon,' she cried to me.

I ran to him. He was in poor condition. Reeses was doing the best he could to help. The other evil Pokémon had disappeared to who knows where. I healed Freemon's wounds, but still was unconscious.

"SCREEE! SCREE! SCREEEEEE!" I looked over again, and Wrenchy was tearing away the evil Ho-Oh's armor!

"YOU'LL REGRET THIS! ALL OF THIS! YOU WILL NEVER WIN! EVEN IF YOU END US, YOU WON'T STOP THE INEVITABLE!" she howled hauntingly as Wrenchy finished Ho-Oh, firing a great laser beam from her mouth. What remained of the beings armor fell to the ground with a clank. Wrenchy stood in the middle of the runes, surrounded in broken and torn metal sheets. She fold back into the shape of a beautiful cyborg lady and ran over.

She knelt by Freemon and wept. "Freemon, my wonderful husband, speak to me. SPEAK TO ME!"

"Why the hell did you not tell me you were the dragon?" he said, opening his eyes.

    She hugged him and laughed.

Wendle whispered to me. "I'm not the only one who thinks this is weird, right?"

"Yeah, I admit that was the last thing I would expect."
