14. Chapter Fourteen

"Luke, fluff up my pillow again and I'll chop your hands off with my Jell-O spoon,"

"Are you sure you're comfortable? I know how hard the hospital beds are,"

"Luke, I'm fine, I promise. Except wanting to get out of this damned place, but I'm fine,"

"Your fine or my fine?" I smiled. I've been in this hospital for almost a week now and I've finally gotten all my strength back. I can walk fully and I can even hit people now, thanks to Leo being an amazing brother and bringing me the wrong kind of soup. By next week, I'll be doing pull ups in the gym.

"Like hell you will be. We all decided it would be best if you came to stay with us for a few weeks, to keep you sane,"

"To keep me sane? What am I?"

"You're you and if I know you, you'll start working out and training before you're healed and you'll open your stitches. And frankly, I don't want another puddle of blood on the floor. I just got the other one out of the carpet," I rolled my eyes as the doctor stepped into the room.

"Sir, I have to give Miss. Carson her medicine, if you could please leave the room,"

"All the other times he was able to stay," I informed.

"It's protocol. Every visitor has to leave the room for treatment." I nodded to Luke and he stepped out of the room before the doctor shut the door.

"When can I go home?" I asked.

"You're not,"

"Excuse me?" He took the syringe out of his pocket and held it up. "What the hell,"

"You're not going home, Violet. Damon's don't get to go home," he stuck his hand in his pocket once more but I didn't give him the chance to pull anything out.

"What kind of doctor are you?" I asked as I kicked him across the room.

"Not your everyday one." He replied, standing up. He pulled the shiny object from his pocket and launched at me with his in his hand. I gasped and threw myself on the floor, unhooking myself from every machine I was hooked up to. I could feel the stitches loosen, but that was the least of my worries. The imposter sat on my legs and threatened me with the knife and syringe in both his hands. Luckily for me, I'm strong even without my legs. I pushed him off of me and crawled over to the wall, away from the man and held my hand to my stomach feeling my wounds reopen.

"You Bitch. You're going to pay," he stood back up and charged at me but I beat him to it. The chair opposite from me flew across the room and hit him on his back, making him fall over on the floor, the knife falling out of his hands and sliding all the way over to me.

"Luke!" I yelled, still feeling his presence. The door opened and Luke ran in along with my family.

"What happened?" Luke asked, checking the imposters vitals.

"What happened was this guy came in here and attempted to give me some kind of... I don't even know what." Luke ran over to my side, checking my body for anything that could've gone wrong.

"I'm fine but I... feel my wounds open,"

"Yup, I'm feeling it too," Luke said, holding his side. Chloe looked down to us with cold eyes. I put my head against the wall as the blood seeped through my hospital gown.

"Okay, we need to get her stitched up and quickly. Get the chair back against the wall for Luke to sit in and give him a towel or something. She's not on any pain medication so he will feel everything. Get me gauze pads and string."

"There's actual nurses here, Mrs. H," Leo said.

"Lock the door and close the curtain."

"Feeling better?" I opened my eyes and groaned as the one person I hate stood at the foot of my bed.

"Good as new," I replied, looking down to my stitched up skin. I sat in the bed with no shirt on and no hospital gown. I looked to the chair next to me, only to find it empty.

"He's in the shower, said he was feeling numb and the pain wasn't helping. He said he needed to wash up," I nodded. "Listen, I wanted to talk to you."

"About?"

"It's no lie Luke likes you and it's no secret you love him. And I don't like it, but I can't do anything about it." She pulled something out of her back pocket, making me raise up on my elbows.

"Chloe,"

"Don't, Violet. Don't pull what he does with me. I need you to stay away from Luke and I need you to do it now. He is my fiancé and he is the only man I love and you standing in the way of that makes him changes his mind and makes him say thing to me he never said,"

"That is not my fault, Chloe." I said, eyeing down her weapon.

"Yes it is. Everyday he's sad and hurting because of you. Because of your emotions," she stepped to the side of my bed, moving closer to me.

"Chloe, whatever you do to me, you do to Luke. You can kill me but you will take Luke down as well. And I know you don't want that,"

"You're screwing everything up. Ever since I first met you, you screwed things up."

"Chloe, I don't want to hurt you," she shook her head. She raised her arms up above her head. In a quick move, the chair across the T. V on the wall flew off the mantle and knocked Chloe down to the floor. Two times in a row, new record. I may be in the hospital and can't do much, but I will not be a doormat. And I will not fall down.

"What the hell is going on?" Or maybe I will fall.
