Insomnia | Joshler

Josh's college roommate has insomnia.
He's also pretty freaking hot.

11. Pillow Talk

*Trigger warning*

It was Saturday. Their first day of college was ironically on a Friday.

Tyler woke to the feeling of strong arms wrapped around his waist and lips nuzzled into his neck. The sweet smell of Christmas cookies filled his nostrils and he sighed contentedly, instinctively turning his head to kiss the lips beside him. Instead, his lips were met with a firm hand.

"Little soon, don't you think?"

Tyler's eyes shot open and he jumped out of Josh's arms, scurrying out of bed and falling back into the wall with a thud.

"Oh, god, sorry! I-I didn't realize it was you, a-at first," He explained hurriedly.

Josh just gave him a grin.

"Don't be," He said, "Now come back and lie down. We need to talk."

"C-Can't we just sit on the couch?"

"Nah, you're warm and I'm cold."

Tyler felt his stomach do a flip as he slowly lay back beside Josh, who immediately slipped an arm around his waist.

"We need to talk about why I'm in your bed in the first place."

Tyler felt his mouth go dry.

"J-Josh, I'm so sorry, Blurry was telling me to, and I-"

"Woah, woah, woah," Josh said, propping himself up on one elbow so that he was leaning over Tyler, "I'm not mad."

"Y-Your not?"

"Of course not, why would I be mad?"

It was then that Tyler burst into tears.

"Hey, shh, it's okay!" Josh tried to comfort Tyler, scooping him up in his arms.

Tyler leaned into Josh and buried his face in the fabric of his T-Shirt. Josh rubbed circles into Tyler's back soothingly and held him against his chest. He did this until Tyler had regained control of his sniffles and sobs and was able to look up at Josh, who cupped a hand under his chin.

"M' Sorry."

"Shh, baby boy, you have nothing to be sorry for. Just please, tell me why you did it."

"J-Josh did you just call me-"

"Don't stall, Tyler," Josh said quickly, blushing madly.

Tyler sighed, leaning farther against Josh and they both laid down on the covers once again.

"Y-You know Blurryface."

"What about him?"

"Well, he told me to. He's not very friendly at night, you see. He d-does things."

"What kind of things?" Josh asked with concern.

Tyler took a quivering breath.

"H-he makes me not be able to sleep."

"So you're a..."

"Insomniac," Tyler finished for him, turning on his side to look him straight in the eyes, "I'm an insomniac."

"Oh, Tyler," Josh mused, "You need sleep."

"I know," Tyler said with a roll of his eyes, "But he won't let me."

"You seemed to sleep fine when you were with me," Josh said thoughtfully.

"Well, no one's ever been there for me when he comes," Tyler admitted.

"So, you think that's all you needed?"

"W-Well..." Tyler stuttered.

Josh smirked playfully.

"Don't worry, I don't mind staying with you at night if that's what you want," He said, wrapping both arms around Tyler and burying his face in his tan neck, "You keep me warm."

"B-But Josh, you'll get tired of me. You have n-no idea what I'm like at night."

Josh shook his head, lips brushing against Tyler's skin.

"There's so much you don't know, Tyjo."

Josh sat up, grinning.

"Look, if we're gonna be roommates, your gonna have to get used to the nicknames alright?"

He began to tickle Tyler who let out an excited yelp and then a giggly, "O-okay!"

Josh then snuggled back into Tyler's chest, pink hair flopping over his shirt with ease.

"Come on, let's go back to sleep. M' sleepy."

Tyler wanted to protest, but he was, in all honesty, very tired as well. He simply hummed in response and cuddled against Josh, slowly giving in to the pull of sleep.
