The tale of two Wolves

Der er en kamp inde i os alle, kampen mellem det gode og det onde.

1. The tale of two Wolves

The stars were shining beautiful as an old man walked out of the cabin  with his granddaughter by his side. They walked slowly into the forest and found a little clearing where they sat down . The old man started telling her a tale.

” A fight is going on inside of me” the old man slowly said to his granddaughter. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.” He stopped and looked at the little girl, she looked up at him with her big brown eyes.

And so, he continued “one is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority… and ego.” Once again, the old man stopped, but this time he looked up at the sky.

Dreaming about his young days, when he was young and how he lived through the love and the pain, completely lost in his thoughts, it wasn´t until the little girl took his hands, he realized where he was and started again.

“The other is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion… and faith.”

He pointed at his granddaughter’s chest with his old fingers and said to her “the same fight is going on inside you.” He started pointing his finger in every direction and said “and inside every other person, too.”

The old stopped his tale, stood up, and began walking out of the forest and back to the cabin, the girl jumped up and ran after him as fast as she could while almost yelling “which wolf will win?” The old man turned his old and tired head and said very carefully “the one you feed”.
