Grasping the Sky

Humans are destined to die someday, to be inanimate and lifeless where we have no experience whatsoever with these type of topics. Before any of these, what would we like to do? Simply wait our days of departing? Or choose to fully enjoy our life? Humans are born with natural talents that helps and sometimes guarantee survival based on their usefulness. However, this tale is about those who do not have them.

18. "Strong" Person

The person who stood before  me had unusual feeling that was simply not explainable by my current vocabulary. Weird? No. Strong? Maybe. Determined? Not the best one. "Who are you? If you are not a magician, put your hand above right now!" one of the soldiers instructed. The soldiers, called magic knights, were equipped with steel armor and swords that had high compatibility with magic. If they were serious, they could simply fuse magic with their weapons and cause damage that would instantly kill us immigrants. "Whats with this useless piece of junk? Are you really that idiotic?" his words caused instant anger on that soldier. "You filthy- eh?" he stopped. Wait, no, his arm stopped. From just one straight finger, his entire movement were cancelled and it caused the knight to panic. "I have never seen anything like this, who are you?" he attacked with his left. However, it was stopped again. He gently put his fingers toward his head and it knocked him out causing him to fall from his back. All of the knights pointed their swords at him. "Surrender, or you will pay!" they were incredibly furious. "Scary~" his expression didn't match his words. He drew his sword, and the knights immediately panicked. "Gaze" its was one simple word that he said that caused all this. Among the knights, there was the first class knight who was praised endlessly because of his promising talents, but he was actually the one who trembled the most. "I won't do any harm, just let me stay here for few month," he stated. "You might enter anytime you want, but exiting is not your choice!" They all dashed to single opponent. "*****" I couldn't hear it. But I could hear one thing, and that was the sound of horror coming from the knights that attacked, rather than the one who was being attacked. From single swing, all of the knight's armor shattered, so was their swords. "You people are too dependent on your magic or what so ever," his words gave me hope that I could become like him. From that day on, I had feeling that he would become greater person in the future.
