Break On Me

"Maybe it's not about the happy ending.. Maybe it's about the story."

Sometimes it’s hard to accept what is, and it’s hard to go along with something even though you know you could do better.. But how come it’s so easy to slip up? So easy to say the wrong thing, use the wrong words, or even make the wrong moves? Sometimes we just all need to break.. in more ways than just mentally. I want you to know, that no matter what, I will always be here for you.. whether you like it or not, if you want me here or if you want me to live.. If you love me, or if you hate.. You can always break on me baby.

We loose ourselves in the things we love, we find ourselves there too..

20. Chapter 019

The weather was perfect, the slight breeze was rather refreshing. I’m glad that it’s nice outside, I feared it might rain or be entirely too hot to have Katie out, but thankfully it’s just right. Rio was really cool, the people where definitely into their culture. The shops everywhere, the food vendors, all of it – it’s just a good atmosphere to be in.
I glance over to see if Emmy was alright, but when I did I had to look a second time, even longer though. She was staring ahead of her as she walked beside Carly, neither of them were talking so I know she wasn’t trying to focus herself on a conversation.
But I don’t do anything, I don’t want to risk the outbreak of a fight or an argument – I sigh to myself and continue walking with my little angel in my arm. Most of the time Katie distracted me from the world, Emmy being part of that world.
Honestly, I’m not really sure why I get so caught up in her, it could be the fact she’s my little girl and I just love her to death – but I also believe it’s because she calms me down, she keeps me sane. I wish I could say the same for Emmy, but that’s not true. Emmy makes me worry, stresses me sometimes. But Katie, she’s just a little precious life saver.
We had been out here almost three hours, and I know Katie is getting tired of not doing anything. I’m hoping she will go on and go to sleep in my arms, so she won’t be fussy later on. However, that’s probably not going to happen.
“Hey, Harry, there’s that café you were talking about.’’ Carly points out as she stops and turns toward it’s direction.
“Finally.’’ I say with a smile as we go to the front entrance. I hold the door open for the girls, Emmy not saying a word to me as she walks by – eyes locked with the ground.

“Em..” I mumble lightly hoping that she heard me. I look at her from the corner of my eye, but I’m only given the sight of her staring at her lap, hands folded peacefully.
My eyes meet Carly’s sweet concern as she stares at me, eyebrows in a furrow. I just simply shrug a shoulder at her, not really sure what was going on. She gives me a sly smile before taking a breath to speak, “So.. Harry,’’ She speaks aloud, “I was thinking that maybe I could watch Katie for you tonight.. So that you and Emmy can have some alone time.’’ Carly informs me.
I raise my eyebrows at her, surprised at her offer and completely unaware of it. From the edge of my eye I see Emmy bring her head up, looking over across the table at Carly. I mentally thank that girl across from me – she might have just saved my night.
“That sounds nice, thanks Carly.’’ I give her a honest smile, in my head I already began to plan what I was going to do. You see, I’m not really sure what’s going on with Emmy.. but I do remember our conversation on the plane, and she needs to know that I’m devoted to us, to her. I’ll definitely make her believe it tonight.. Whether she wants it or not.
“You don’t.. have to do that.’’ Emmy spoke suddenly.
Unable to control my response, I look over and sigh to her, “She wants to.’’
“Maybe she wants to do something else.. she doesn’t have to look after our relationship… we don’t need time alone-‘’
‘’Our  relationship? I’m starting to wonder if there’s anything left.’’ I cut her off, letting my locked up thoughts spill free into the air. It grew quiet, no one made a sound. My eyes burn into Emmy’s, I love this damn girl to death, but sometimes she just gets on my damn nerves.
“What are you talking about?’’ She finally says, her voice bursting with a not so pleasant tone, slicing the silence into pieces.
“At least once every damn day you ignore me like I don’t fucking exist, and then you get mad about it when I  try to ask you what’s wrong. If you don’t want to be with me then.. fuck it.’’ I spat as I stand up from the table, picking up the car-seat, my baby was going with me.
“You act like a damn immature child, that’s why I ignore you.” Emmy admits to me in the midst of it all.
“I try to have a good time with you, a laugh every now and then.’’ I remind her of my true intentions, “You act stuck up all the time, like all you want me to do is sit quiet on the couch and stare at the TV. I like giving you a good time, and I hate the way you fucking act towards my offerings.’’
“Your offerings? Do you honestly think I want to be  here right now? Do you think I want to be with you right now, while you’re like  this? I want to be home.. we never do anything at home.. Nothing.’’ Emmy slides over on the booth to the edge, standing up in front of me.
“If you don’t want to be with me.. then leave. I’d have a much better time without you bitching all the time anyways.’’ I throw the words at her like she was just another person in this world – nothing special to me.
Emmy’s eyes stare up at mine, a tears forming in those beautiful eyes of hers. I want to say something, try to calm her down.. but the words stay kept in my head, nothing coming from my mouth.
“How about we just.. calm down some guys.. I’m sure you can talk this out.. without yelling in public.’’ Carly insists as she goes to stand up, but stops as Emmy parts her lips to say something.
“Harry likes being in public. He likes it when they see him yell at me like I’m nothing. He wants them to see how he really treats me.. like a pathetic little bitch. Apparently.. in his eyes.. that’s what I am,'' she stops her sentence as her eyes lock with mine, "Go to Hell." Emmy turned on her heel before I could open my mouth.
The door slammed as she left me standing there looking like an idiot. I raised my voice, I done everything wrong again. I fucked up, I need to stop. Because one day.. she won’t walk back to me.. she’ll leave for good, leaving me standing alone.
My throat becomes dry as I sit down on the booth, looking down at my little sleeping beauty. Sometimes I feel like she’s the glue of our relationship, Emmy won’t leave me.. because she knows taking Katie would rip me up, and I won’t leave her because I know I could never do that to her heart..
I wish the glue was actual love, but I’m beginning to doubt that..
“Are you kidding me, Styles?!’’ Carly snaps out of nowhere, I look up to see her with a furious look on her faces, hand held in the air for emphasis.
“What?’’ I say, not sure why she’s also blaming me for this.
“For one thing, you’re a damn fool for letting her leave this shop without you! Do you realize anyone could take her Harry? Someone could rape her! You never know what’s going to happen. And another! Seriously, you had to say something about her emotions!” Carly preaches to me like she’s my sister, might as well be.
“She’s always-“
“I don’t care what she’s always doing! You don’t know what’s going on inside of her head! And that’s your issue! Talking about her problems, Harry! You need to truly understand! Women are very emotional when it comes to relationships, and Emmy is not the one you need to do wrong! Now go get her! Leave Katie with me, and GO!’’ Carly yells her last word at me pretty loud.
I begin to question her as I stand up, leaning to give my little angel a kiss on the cheek – but then it hits me. Emmy is alone. Without me. In a city where anything could happen..
