Chapter Two

"I've been expecting you, Lia", Harry said. He had a devilish grin on his face that sent chills soaring throughout my body.

"So Harry, how much do you think she'll be worth?", Andy said.

I inwardly shivered as Andy said that sentence. To think that I would have to live in this world made me want to scream and cry. But, to my surprise, Harry didn't answer Andy. Harry just looked at me. His expression was slowly changing. The once devilish grin was changing into a vulnerable frown.

"Harry?", Andy said.

"Andy, you can leave us", Harry said, waving his hand in Andy's direction.

Andy didn't say anything, but nodded his head. He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze as if to say "I wish I could do something to help you" just before he left the room.

"Why am I here?", I repeated.

"You'll find out soon enough", Harry said as he started walking over to me. "Because, you see, I haven't even figured that out yet".

"What's going to happen to my brother?", I asked.

"Ah yes, him", Harry said, wearing his terrifying smile once again. "His fate is for me to know and for you to find out".

"What's in this book case?", I asked.

"You know, you ask too many questions", Harry huffed, but his bone-chilling smile remained. "You'll be staying here, so allow me to take you to your room".

Harry walked past me and started to reach for the door handle when, with angry tears threatening to spill over the edge, I said ,"I'm not going anywhere with you".

"If you want even the smallest chance of staying alive, you'll come with me", Harry said, now with a cold expression on his face. His piercing green eyes stared back into mine as my breathing became unsteady.

I said nothing as Harry pushed the door open and firmly grabbed my arm. He led me down the abnormally long hallway as we passed by several locked doors. I could hear muffled sounds coming from some of the rooms when we walked by. Then we came across a room with an elegant white door with a shiny golden handle.

"This is it", Harry said. He opened the door and, to my surprise, it was rather neat and organized. There was a large bed that had a black comforter accompanied by a large black pillow. A giant flat screen TV sat on the wall opposite the bed and two glass doors led to a balcony overlooking the back yard.

"This is normally the guest room that Niall stays in when he's over, but he can deal. Don't make me regret this decision", Harry said.

"Sorry, but who's Niall?", I asked timidly.

"He's the one that let you in the house. He helps me a lot with my work", Harry said, emphasizing the word "work" and sending chills down my spine. "Anyway, I'll leave you alone for tonight. And don't even think about escaping. I've got people everywhere and they'll just bring you right back here".

Harry shut the door as he left and I heard him lock it from the outside. I pressed my back against the door and slid down to the ground, tears forming in the corners of my eyes.

Was this supposed to be my new life?

"Alex, what is it that you're showing me?", I said as I held out my arms in front of me.

"Just keep the blindfold on for a little bit longer, sis", Alex said as he guided me. "Alright, sis. take off the blindfold".

I had taken the blindfold off and just about every member in my family was standing in my back garden with a sign that said "Happy 16th Birthday Alex and Lia!".

"You guys. This is so nice. I can't believe you're all here", I smiled.

"How could the whole family not be here for your guys' 16th birthday?", my dad said.

"But how come it was only a surprise for me and not Alex?", I said.

"Alex was the one who planned it", my mom said.

"Guilty", Alex shrugged.

"Thank you so much", I said as I gave Alex a hug.

"Anything for my sister", Alex smiled.

~ A Few Hours Later ~

"Did you get everything you wanted sweetheart?", my mom asked as we plopped down on the couch.

"Yes I did, mom. It was such a great day", I smiled.

"I'm glad you had a good day, honey", my mom said as she gave me a side hug.

"That was so sweet of Alex to plan that for me when it was his birthday too", I said.

"He's been planning it for over a month", my mom said.

"I'm so blessed to have you guys as my family. I hope we never get separated", I said as I laid my head on my mom's shoulder.

"We never will be separated, honey", she said as she kissed my head.

"Excuse me? Hello?", said someone on the other side of the door.

"Ye-yes?", I said through a mixture of tears and sobs.

"Can I come in?", they asked.

I didn't say anything, but I stood up slowly and opened the door. I was glad when I didn't find Harry on the other side of the door, but a different guy. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and a rather perfect jawline. He was wearing all black, except for his blindingly white shoes.

"My name is Liam", he said as he walked past me and went to sit down on the bed. "Come here. I need to talk to you".

I walked over to the bed and sat about a foot away from Liam. He smelled a lot like cigarette smoke and lemons. An odd combination to say the least.

"What do you need to talk to me about?", I asked.

"I know how you can get out of here", he said.

His words rang in my head.

I know how you can get out of here

"And how exactly would I do that?", I asked.

"Alright, so what you need to do is if you go straight down the stairs, there's a door that looks like it just leads to a closet, but really it's a door to the backyard. No one will notice you. Once you're in the backyard, take the gate that leads to the front yard. The code for the gate is-"

"Liam, I hope you weren't just telling her what I think you were telling her", Harry said as he barged into the room.

Liam kind of shifted uneasily in his seat. He knew that Harry had caught him and he knew that he would be punished.

"You were, weren't you?", Harry questioned.

"WEREN'T YOU?!", Harry bellowed.

"YES! I mean, yes, yes I was", Liam said.

Harry's angry expression changed into a smile. Not the happy kind of smile, but the kind of smile you see on the face is a psychotic murderer.

"I hate to do this, Liam", Harry sighed as two large men dressed in all black entered the room.

"Don't forget what I told you", Liam whispered without looking at me.

Harry nodded in our direction and the two men led Liam out of the room. I had no idea what would happen to him, but, knowing Harry, there's no way that it could be good.

"You lied to him", I said without making eye contact.

"What's that?", Harry said as he leaned on the door to shut it. "You know, you really should make eye contact when you're talking to me".

"You lied to him, Harry. You don't feel sorry for him and you don't hate what you're doing. You like it. You get off on it and frankly, it's sickening", I said.

"Well, you're just going to have to get used to it, babe", Harry said as he caresses my face.

"Don't touch me and don't call me babe", I said as I pulled my face away.

Harry got up without saying a word. But just before he left the room, he said, "Those are just two more things you're going to have to get used to".
