Chapter Twenty-Four: Mason's Past & Notes

Mason's P.O.V.

When I woke up from my nap my face was completely buried in Addy's hair.

"Babe?" I mumbled.

"Mhmm," She responded. Oh so shes awake now.

"I need to talk to you," I said. Addy then sat up and looked over at me.

"What is it?" Addy asked seriously.

"I've told you about Scarlett but there is way more than just that," I said.

"Mace you don't have to if you feel obliged to because you told me about Scarlett."

"Addy I really want to tell you everything."

"Everything? Starting where?"

"The beginning."

"Let's go down for breakfast then you can tell me."

"Addy it's 11 pm," I laughed.

"I'm parched ok," Addy said smiling.

"Why do you say parched?" I asked cheekily.

"Because I don't want to deal with a giggling horny teenage boy."

"I'm not that horny."

"Mason you're always horny," Clark said.

"I forgot the kitchen is your home," I said sarcastically.

"It's my everything, but at least I can keep dick in my pants," Clark chuckled.

"We talkin' 'bout how Mason a'int able to keep his 2 inch penis in his pants?" Xavier asked.

"It's not 2 inches it's 8," I smirked.

"Addy is it really 8 inches or 8 centimeters?" Clark asked me.

"Don't bring me into this," Addy said and got a glass then filled it with chilled water.

"What the fuck Addy it's 18 degree's outside how are you drinking cold water?" Clark asked.

"The same way I drink hot chocolate in summer," Addy said and took another sip. I don't get it I would be a icicle if I did that.

"Want a beer?" Xavier asked me reaching for them.

"Sure," I shrugged.

"Me too," Clark said.

"So anything special?" Clark asked looking me in the eyes.

"No," I gulped.

"Nothing else you're hiding about Scarlett?" Clark asked.

"Clark what me and Scar had was and still is none of your business," I spat out then grabbed Addy's hand walked walked to my room.

"Mace..." Addy said.

"It's just let's get comfortable this is basically the story of my life," Mason said.

"Mason," Addy said and grabbed my face then slowly kissed me. Short but passionate but I mean I would've preferred it more passionate but that couldn't happen.

"I was born November 17, 1999 weighing 8lb 6oz. My mom and da-" I was saying when Addy cut me off.

"The very very beginning?" Addy asked surprised.

"Yes now let me continue," I said.

"Ok go ahead," Addy said and laid her head on my lap.

"My mom and dad were going to name me Josh but when they saw me they thought I look like a Mason so that's my name. Then as normal I got my grandfathers first names and Clarke. Growing up I was either on my own or with my dad. My dad didn't want me to be secluded from the world so he enrolled me in a daycare by our house. It was there that I met Clark.

"I was alone because I didn't want to meet a ton of people so Clark came up to me and introduced himself. I got upset at first because he had my last name so I ignored him. Although he never left me alone. I came back the next day and wouldn't let go of my dad but then Clark with his dad came over to me. Turned out that they used to be best friends but they got too busy with their sections in the gang so they hang out anymore. My dad then made me talk to Clark. After a while I realized Clark was chill so we became friends. Clark and I got extremely close and imma tell you something he hates, we even had pillow fights during sleepovers.

"Later on though I started football and had to become more 'tough' so I stopped, umm, playing games and started hanging around talking. In middle school people got more into their clique and so did Clark and I. We became know as the gangsta/ghetto kids that never did good in school, so being the dumb asses we are we succumbed to the schools stereotype of us. So that stayed the same and at the same time I started lying to my best friend by stating his sister. Damn I even broke the bro code.

"So then you know what happened to my parents and then Scarlett less than 6 months later. I then decided I won't interact with anyone outside the gang, unless it was for my benefit, you know that benefit. So that's exactly what i did. I created more and more rivalry because I was angry about all of my goddamn stupid mistakes. I even read the notes Scarlett wrote everyone for 3 months and cried my self to sleep every night for 3 months, well that's if I slept.

"And then I met you. When I saw you it changed something in me. I felt like that piece of me I had lost had been found and I was somewhat happy. At the time it wasn't that I wanted to date you but at least have you be a part of my life. So to make sure that happened, wow this sounds possessive, I actually texted Sara to find you and talk you into being with them when you had the time. That was all to make sure that you didn't hang out with other people. But Addy around a month later when I walked you to your car, the day of the accident, I realized that I did have a crush on you. Like a middle school crush with all those feeling, so my first reaction was to become more possessive. According to Luke I was in love but I know that I'm in love now. You don't have to love me back right now or ever really, I would appreciate it, but I don't want you to feel like I forced you to love me," I explained almost really anything there was to know about why I am how I became who I am now.

" you Mace," Addy said.

"I prom-" I started but Addy cut me off.

"Mace you should give everyone the letters," Addy said looking me in the eyes.

"I...don't can't," I said. I just can't give them their the last bit of Scarlett i have left in me.

"Mace you have to, it's hurting you," Addy said.

"But-" I started trying to find and excuse. "Ok."

"Give Clark his first you don't have to watch, just give," Addy said. I nodded grabbed the notes and walked to the room Clark was in then slipped the note under the door.

I know Clark isn't awake its 5 am. I grabbed Addy's hand with my free hand and walk to the garage and grab my motorcycle keys open the door and leave. The next stop is Clark's house. I got off the bike then slowly slipped the note in and waited for no reason in particular. After 5 minutes-ish I slowly turned around and got onto my bike. I feel like Scarlett really is leaving me now even though she literally left 2 years ago. Addy hugged me, not because she was scared but she could tell I was. I was actually too scared to face my life head first and now I'm doing it. Last stop before going home, is our school. I know the person who bullied her the most, she basically said it in her mass note. I walk to he locker with Addy right behind me and push the note in.

I swear the school needs to be more secure. I then walk out and go home. I don't really know why when we have 1 1/2 before school but we do. When we get to my room trying to be as quiet as possible I see a note outside my door. I pick it up and read it.

'I forgive you.'

No name.

Although I can tell it's Clark. I don't know why I just know.

"Mace?" Addy asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"What's actually the very worst thing that happened to you?" Addy asked.

I gulped.

"Addy no," Clark said from the doorway.

"She should know," I said.

"You're gonna sound like a pussy," Clark said and sat on my bed.

"What?" Addy asked.

"It's...That I was... As a young child..." I tried saying but couldn't find the right words.

"Mace, what is it?" Addy asked.

"I was... Addy I think this can wait," I say. I can't say it without sounding like a weak pussy.

"Mason please tell me," Addy pleaded.

"Please don't leave once you find out?" I asked.

"Of course I wouldn't," Addy said surprised and sat in front of me.

"I was... when I was really young, around 5 years old.... I got raped....and abused," I said.

Then she stands up and walks out of my room.

Down the hall.

Off my floor.
