Chapter Thirty: Six Couples & Proposal

Adeline's pov

~~~~Time skip to November of new school year~~~~
The past couple months have been pretty uneventful. Let's see Clark and Isabella started dating at the end of last year and the rest of our relationships have been perfectly fine. Also during summer, the day Angie asked out Luca, we went to Sara's lake house and stayed over the 4th of July weekend.
Ralfeal decided that it would be a fun idea that before the championship game all of us couples go on a double date times three. Also mentioning that our football team has made it to the state championships, thanks to Mason. I got dressed in a cute dress and decided to put on heels.
"Ok, I'm ready," I said and walked over to Mason.
"Well hello there sexy," Mason said ask he put his hands on my waist.
"Well hello there handsome," I said and kissed his cheek.
"Let's go," Mason said and held my hand we walked downstairs to see Ralfeal and Kacey, Sara and Ryder, and Noah and David.
"We're just waiting for Angie and Luca, and Clark and Isabella," Noah said.
"I'm still shocked that Clark actually got Isabella to date him," Ralfeal said.
"I think that everybody is," Mason said.
"That's right," Angie said coming down with Luca right behind her.
"Addy!" Luca said and hugged me.
"I swear I haven't seen you in forever," I said.
"I know," Luca said.
"Ok so the one time i decided to take my time you guys are fast," Clark said.
"Sorry man, but you need to check the memo," Luca said.
"Let's go I'm starving," Noah said. We all took our own cars because of the game tonight. Of course all of us are going but Mason and Clark have to be there an hour early.
"This place looks really fancy," I said aloud. Well that sounds really lame.
"Because it is really fancy," Mason chuckled and we walked to wait for the others who weren't too far behind us. But we were probably here so fast because Mason thinks it's ok to drive like a maniac or that he is still street racing.
"Hello we have a reservation for a party of 12 under Gikes," Ralfeal said.
"Ok follow me," The waitress said and walked us to one of those circular booths.
"I love these," I said.
"Why?" Mason asked looking at me like I was crazy.
"Because they look cool," I said.
"You're strange, what if you have to pee, everyone has to get up," Mason said thinking logically.
"But they still look cool," I said. Ralfeal and Kacey were on one end and we were next to them with Ryder and Sara, then Clark and Isabella, then Noah and David, then on the other side was Angie and Luca.
"I ended up sharing a really large plate with Mason because he couldn't eat a lot before the game and I didn't know what to get. Although the food was really good. We then finished and hung out a little by a nearby mall.
"I'm soooo nervous," Mason mumbled.
"Mason you're going to do great you lead the team here you can win," I said.
"Well that and another thing...." Mason said trailing off. I looked at him suspiciously when Clark pulled him away.
"What's that all about?" I asked Isabella.
"Nothing," She said really fast.
"Well anyway... Addy look at this dress," Sara said pulling me to a rack and putting a dress against me.
"I don't like the neck it's really deep," I said.
"Oh well we need to find something that doesn't have that deep of a neck," Sara said and continued looking trough the rack. After 20 minutes or so Clark and Mason came back and told us it was time to go. We got to the school and Isabella and I went into the stands. I then got a text from Ryder asking where we were. The team was warming up and I saw Carter, James, Clark, Mason, and Ralfeal huddled together on the side of the field away from everyone. Carter then ran out of the stadium and all the other guys went to their team mates. Mason instead though ran over to the coach and was talking to him and they kept looking over in our direction. I swear Mason has been really strange this past month but it does give me enough time to be able to get his birthday present easily.
I found out that Mason's was too immature before going to 1st grade and no school would take him so he had to get held back, making him turn 19 when he's gonna graduate. The game started and our team was doing really good before half time. We were ahead by 21-15. Although when we got to the third quarter the other team caught up causing the score to be 25-23. If our team doesn't step up their game in the fourth quarter we're going to lose. Luckily in the fourth quarter we were catching up with the score being 28-26 but we only have 10 seconds left for the play. Everyone was on their toes and chanting for Mason to make the final touchdown.
Then at the last second, literally, Mason fell into the end zone. Getting the score to 29-28, everyone on our side was cheering and the cheerleaders were running over to congratulated the football players. The team then lifted Mason onto their shoulders, when Ryder grabbed my wrist.
"Where are we going?" I asked hesitantly.
"Just follow," He said as the rest of the group followed us down the steps out of the stands and onto the football field.
"What are we doing on the field?" I asked again giving all of them a perplexed look.
"Just wait and watch," Ryder said. James, Clark, Ralfeal, and Carter then all came up behind me.
"Honestly guys what is going on?" I asked again getting frustrated.
"Come on Addy, just walk forward," Carter ushering me forward.
"NO! Not until I'm told why you guys are acting shady," I said.
"Addy just walk," James said harshly.
"Fine," I said and took small hesitant steps forward to the 50 yard line.
All the marching band kids, cheerleaders, and footballers holding signs backwards till I got to the 60 yard line when they held up the signs. All the footballers had signs that spelt out 'Adeline will you marry me?' all the other kids were holding signs with pictures of me and Mason, some were normal, crazy, cute, awkward, or with all our friend.
Holy shit can this man get anymore cheesy? Asking me to marry him at a championship football game. In front of a ton of people. He's the cheesiest person I've ever meet, but I love him anyways. Mason then walked out from behind the football players and held a microphone. He then got down on one knee and opened the box.
"Ok, first off I'd like to say that I have loved you from the day you moved to this town. I swear I couldn't take my eyes off you. You have always been affectionate, mean but nice, crazy, silly, funny, but still serious and thoughtful. I never thought I could love after Scarlett but you showed me the light that comes at the end of the dark tunnel. I know I sound really cheesy and cliche but I would drop the world for you. I would kill for you. I would drop everything for you. I really want to start a family with you and be able to completely call you mine. I want to take our relationship to the next level.
So Adeline Belle Baines, will you marry me?" Mason said.
"Of course!" I exclaimed and pulled him up and pressed my lips onto his. He then slipped the ring onto my finger.
"Future Mrs. Clarke," Mason said.
"I love you Mason Bradley Zane Clarke, so much that words, objects, or the universes couldn't compare to it," I said.
"That is the nicest thing you have ever said to me," Mason said.
"You love me for it," I said.
"Of course I do," Mason said.
"I'm going to be the godfather of the kids right?" Clark asked, and of course ruining the moment.
"No I am, right?" James said.
"We're not having kids immediately, I'll wait till Addy wants kids," Mason said. He's so sweet.
"I wouldn't mind if they come soon," I said.
"Really?!" Mason said shocked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Ok, till I'm ready," Mason said.
"You're too cute," I said.
"Not as cute as you," Mason said.
"Ok let's go to the park," Carter said.
"Why?" James asked.
"Because," Carter replied.
"Touche," Clark said and we then went to the park for no reason at all other than to be complete fools.
