The first can didn’t touch the sides as the two boys downed them straight off. Both of them made a loud burping noise then laughed out loud as Liam passed Danny another.

Danny caught it then pulled the ring to open it. Carlsberg was cheaper than Carling Black Label to buy but it contained a lot of gas. It was 3.5% which would get you there if you drank enough of it. They passed the cricket ground and could see the large portacabin that was the Zone 22 one of the best disco’s in the area. It played a wide variety of music from Glam Rock to Reggae. They paid the fifty pence entry fee then went to the toilet where Liam pulled out the other four cans and split them. It was fifteen minutes later when they came out. Liam looked around until he found a litter bin and dumped the empties in it. The bright coloured lights shone around the room like bubbles on the floor and on the walls.

Liam and Danny listened to the sound of Mark Bolam and T Rex as they walked around the dance hall.

Many of the girls were on the dance floor as they walked slowly around the room.

It was warm inside so Liam said he was going to hang up his Crombie. Danny followed and they both got a ticket from the lady in the cloakroom. Liam gave him a pack of chewing gum and both of them opened one and rammed it into their mouths and began to chew.

It wasn’t long before they got the attention of a couple of older looking girls who came over and asked them to dance.

“Later said Liam to the two girls and Danny gave him such a look.’

“We don’t want to be lumbered with the same girls all night lets wait to see who comes in; don’t worry if they are interested they’ll be back.

The Liquidator by Harry J all Stars rang out around the room and Liam and Danny took to the floor. The lads danced in one long line whilst the girls danced opposite.

The girls who had came over before quickly moved opposite and they stayed there through Desmond Decker’s Israelites. “I haven’t seen you in here before said the taller of the two girls.’

“I haven’t been here long said Liam looking down at the blond haired girl in a Fred Perry, short skirt and red loafers.

“You’re from Ireland then?’ where about?’

“Christ there’s some crazy shit going on there at the minute isn’t there.’

“Yes; that’s why we moved.’

“A message to you Rudy, followed by Toots and the Maytals as the couple got closer.

“Who told you about this place then?’

“My mate Danny, he lives near here.’  “ Do you want to get out of here and go somewhere?’

“I’ll get my coat.’

Liam went over to Danny and told him to get his coat they’d pulled.’

Once outside Danny led the girls to the cricket pavilion. It was dark there and they couldn’t be seen. It wasn’t long before the two lads had the girls in their arms and were feeling their way around in the dark.

“Have you got anything with you said the blond haired girl.’

Yes, in my pocket.’

The next minute she was undoing the zip on his trousers and had her hand down inside his underpants. Liam looked over at Danny who had his trousers around his ankles. Liam found the softness of her breasts from under her shirt and he fondled them as he kissed her. She moaned softly in his ear as he kissed her on the neck.
