“No, keep her with you, don’t worry me and my team will be following your every move.’

“But she could be in danger.’

“We don’t want them to suspect anything.’ “Just go along with them and then when the time is right we are going to get you out of there.’

They’re going to the game at St James Park tomorrow so they are out of the way when the bombs are detonated.’

“We will be leaving here at lunchtime tomorrow.’

“Alright Billy, keep calm and act as natural as possible.’ Make sure that you are wearing your wire and ear piece so that you and keep in contact with us in case of any change of plans.’

“I will wear my woolly Newcastle united hat so that it covers the ear piece.’

“Good Idea Billy.’ Look I must go.’

“Billy put down the receiver then told Brenda to stick with him and her father.’

Ralph Mason was making his way to Dennis Lord’s office to inform him of what he’d been told when he heard him in a heated conversation with someone. The discussion mentioned £150.000 pounds; and the name McGill came up several times along with the name Sean McStiefain. Could he be the head of the IRA?’

Ralph tip toed away from the door and decided to do some checking on his own.

Going back to his office, Ralph called in Rob Black to his office.

A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and Rob showed up.’

“Rob come in a minute will you. Rob walked over to Ralphs Desk; what is it sir?’

“I want you to do some checking up on a Sean McStiefain; find out everything you can on him.’ “Also we are going to the Newcastle Nottingham Forest game this afternoon so dig out your black and white jersey if you have one and a scarf.’

“I didn’t know that you were a fan sir.’

“I’m not but the McGill gang are going and I want to know what the hell they are up to.’ Now the town is going to be packed out with Christmas shoppers so we need to get the rest of the team in place. “We cannot afford slip ups here.’

“Yes sir, I will get John Sharkey, John Gibson, Dave Murray, and Alan Johnson on board. “ We will need radio contact at all times. “What we don’t need is people panicking.’ “I want police officers undercover looking out for anyone suspicious carrying bags.’

“But sir they will all be carrying bags, its Christmas.’

“Not shopping bags; rucksacks.’ any suspicious parcels or bags have to be treated with care and they are not to be moved under any circumstances until I have looked at them first, they could be booby trapped.’ The area must be evacuated quickly and quietly as possible understood.’

“Yes Sir.’

“Right don’t just stand there get to it, we don’t have a lot of time.’

Rob left the office and made his way to the operations room. He gathered the team together and briefed them before making some calls to Intelligence agencies to find out all he could about Sean McStiefain.

Going down the Coast Road Finbar Kelly was doing 90 mile per hour in the fast lane.

Slow down you idiot; do you want us all to get nicked before we even get to where we are going.’

Finbar reduced speed but there was a distinct smell of smoke in the car.
