He loaded the gun and tried it for size in his Crombie it was perfect. He cut a hole in the pocket attached black tomato ties inside so that the gun would sit comfortably in his hand and be undetected. Looking at himself in the mirror he held the gun inside of the open coat then brought it up to fire quickly; it worked.

“We will see who’s shaking in their boots now won’t we, he said to himself as he hung up the coat and placed some more cartridges into the other pocket.

“He hung up the coat in his wardrobe up stairs out of the way then went back into the kitchen.

When his father came in he told him about Brenda. Seamus jaw tightened and his eyes narrowed.’

“We’re not going to allow them to get away with this are we dad?’

“Listen Liam son, sit down I have a plan.’

Seamus went over with his son what he intended doing after which Liam was more proud of his father than ever before.

Brenda Webster walked out of the school gate she had only gone about fifty yards when someone came up behind her.

“Don’t scream or I will put a bullet in you.’ Just follow me.’

She felt something metallic in the small of her back; she knew then that this was no joke. They crossed the road where a car was waiting with the engine running.

The car took off at speed towards the coast road. Michael O’Leary held the gun to her side in the back of the car then used the end of the pistol to run it over her blouse where her breasts were. Brenda’s nipples hardened, she didn’t know whether it was with the shock or excitement. She only had the vest on underneath and she wondered if they could see her nipples through the fabric. He gazed down on her naked thighs and because her skirt was now shortened it rode up even higher.

She felt O’Leary’s Smokey breath as he let out a small gasp.

“I remember my first girlfriend she was at St Mary’s school in Belfast and I used to take her round the back lane in the Falls Road and give her a knee trembler against the wall.’ Loved it she did.’

“Ever had a knee trembler Brenda?’

“No, Brenda spat as the car reached the Formica factory.’

“You don’t know what you are missing.’

“I’m missing nothing with you.’

“You’ll ever know until you’ve had a real man darlin’

“Cut it out will you Michael she’s just a kid said Billy Lort who was driving the car.

“Hey Angie McCredie was about the same age as Brenda here.’

“Look McGill isn’t going to like this.’

“Who’s going to tell him like.’ said Michael as he placed the end of the gun into the back of Billy’s neck.

“Stop fooling around Michael I’m trying to drive the bloody car.’ You’re a feckin’ idiot; you’ll get us all killed. Billy swerved around two cars then took the fast lane up the coast road.

Michael clicked the safety on then removed the gun from Billy’s neck.

They passed the Corner House pub as they headed down Chillingham Road.

Brenda kept her satchel with her home work over her lap to stop Michael from eying her up which was making her feel uncomfortable. “Pull in over there at that Chippy and go get us something to eat voiced Michael as he handed Billy a pound note.
