Annie packed his thermos flask and his sandwich for his ten o’clock. They both said goodbye to the kids before going out for the bus. Neither of them noticed the black car parked in Tiverton Avenue.

“Looks like they’re just going to work doesn’t it said Finbar Kelly to Michael O’Leary.’

“They’re not daft enough to do another runner.’

“Billy just follow the bus and see where he goes; The bus came at twenty past seven; Seamus kissed his wife then boarded the bus. They followed the bus to the town centre where it stopped at Northumberland Square and Seamus then walked down with a work mate to the ship yard.’

“Right drive back and we will make sure that big bugger goes to school.’

Liam waited until his sister was ready before they both left the house. “What have you got first lesson?’

Maths said Liam then English.’

“We’ve got geography then maths with Mrs Garber.’

“Don’t be telling anyone about Dad; or we could all end up getting shot do you hear me.’

Brenda nodded her head as they walked past the hut near the shops and crossed the road to the school. Liam wandered over to where Danny was then asked him about Saturday night.’

“He said it was okay but it would have been better with you there.’ Liam would have killed him with his bare hands if he’d known that he’d slept with his sister.

The whistle blew and everyone started to make their way into school to the hall.

The assembly was given by Edward Iverson and then the children dismissed. They were like mechanical robots as they filed off to their designated classes. Janice saw Liam as he went to his classroom but he seemed miles away and didn’t even notice her. She looked forward to seeing him at lunchtime in the library.

Mrs Oakley took the geography lesson where they looked through national geographic books and learned about the pigmy tribes in Africa.

They had to write a piece explaining how they would feel if they were lost in the jungle and had to survive. What skills would be required and what would they use around them in order to protect themselves from not only the elements but predators too. Jan set to work; she had a brilliant imagination.

Ralph Mason had taken the taxi back to the rank and paid off the driver who had let him use the car he listened in on the conversation from Billy Lort’s apartment but nothing was mentioned about their intended target. They had all left the building at 6.30 am that morning and he had followed them down to Tiverton Avenue. He had got Billy to place a bug behind the mirror of his car so that he could record all conversations that would all stack up as evidence in court. He had developed the pictures of all members of the gang and sent them to Dennis Lord. He needed to speak with Billy without the operation being compromised. He had a list of all the gigs that Billy was doing. Tonight he was at the High Howdon Social Club in Wallsend. He had sung at the venue many times before. Ralph would get to see him back stage before he went on and find out any information that Billy could give him if any. He went back to the head quarters where he was met by Rob Black who worked for Ralph.

“Any developments Black?’
