"The Troubles " the story is set in Belfast and the North East in 1969.
Seamus Webster and his family flee the riots in Belfast and come to live on Barnstaple Road in North Shields - where he takes up work as a crane driver in Smith's Docks his wife Annie finds a job in the Co-op in Whitley Bay - Seamus is good at DIY and gets lots of work decorating or fitting out new kitchens for people. His father Michael is serving a very long sentence when he is implicated in a
bombing of an army base- his skills as a bomb maker have been passed down to his oldest son and Stephen Mcgill is on the look -out for him as a bombing campaign has begun on mainland Britain. Newcastle has been chosen as the target - can Seamus avoid getting mixed up in this. Read what happens in this tense thriller.

“Don’t worry I have all the gear including thermal long Johns.’

“I’m not being funny kidda when I tell you that if you wear a pair of your lasses old tights they will keep yer legs lovely and warm.’ I’ve got a pair on noo said the driver.’

“It’s the high heels that I cannot get used to laughed the driver.’

“I think the lads at work would have something to say if they knew I was wearing woman’s tights.’

“How Lang yer worked doon the yards then?’

“About seven months now I think; but I worked in the ship yard in Belfast.’

“I thought that I was hearing a hint of an Irish accent there.

“Least said about Belfast the better then eh kidda?’

“Aye,’ we left before the troubles really started.’

“As I said least said.’

“Do you have personal reasons for not wanting to talk about the place?’

“Aye I have.’

The cabbie went quiet after that until they got to their house.’

“That’ll be four sixty Kidda.’

“Here take the five.’

Thanks’ goodnight now; I’ll be seeing yer.’

“Goodnight.’

 

The cabbie pulled away then drove back along the motorway to Shiremoor where he parked up.’ and went to the telephone box.

“Hello this is Ralph Mason speaking put me through to Dennis Lords office at MI5 would you.’

The phone was picked up and Ralph spoke; “hello Sir Detective Ralph Mason Special Agent here; Contact has been made; “I repeat contact has been made.’

How many of them are there over?’

“I picked three up but there were six of them with Billy Lort.

“Did you get Photo’s?

“Yes sir I have.’

“Get them developed and on my desk by tomorrow morning; “I want to know what these bastards are up to.’

“Yes sir.’

“Alright I will have a 24 hour surveillance team keeping watch on our Irish rovers; if they are here for a job then we will be ready for them.’

“Yes sir.’

“Right then carry on Mason; keep me posted on any developments.

Ralph Mason Hung up then went to Billy Lort’s apartment where he sat for another three hours listening in on the conversations between McGill and the others he had it all on tape. Little did McGill know but Billy was now working with them. He had allowed them to put him up in the luxury apartment which was bugged in every room.
