“I want to become a medical researcher.’

Really; maybe we can both go to the same university. I’m taking my A levels when we get back after the summer holidays.’

“Yes I know; me too, maybe we can share notes.’

“Yes I would like that?’

“What about you Liam said Janice do you have plans.’

“Yes; I plan to be professional pew whittler.’

“A what?’

“A pew whittler, someone who whittles pews in church.’

“You make fun of me Liam Webster.’

“What about you Janice; have you decided what you’re going to do.’

“Not really, I like art and would like to go into fashion design.’

Sounds as though you have it figured out. Liam got up and asked Janice to show him where the kitchen was so he could pour the tea out. Janice tried to reach up for the cups and Liam’s big hand took hold of the Mugs he handed them to Janice. He looked at her as she poured the tea. She was a beauty alright she had a nice shapely body and long legs. He caught her looking at him as she spooned sugar into the mugs. Again her face reddened. “Do you have a boyfriend then Janice?’

“Me no, I’m just a homely girl Liam.’ I’ve lived a sheltered life.’

“You are very pretty for a homely girl.’

“Thank you but you flatter me Liam.’

“Liam walked towards her and toyed with her blond curls; Janice’s breathing became heavier as he touched the softness of her cheek with his giant paw. Then he bent down and kissed her softly on the mouth.’

It was the first time she had been kissed by someone other than her parents. Her knees began to tremble as Liam looked at her.’

“Did you like that?’

“Yes, she said nervously but I’ve…

Liam kissed her again this time his huge arms went around her and swallowed her up she was buried in his massive shoulders as she stood on tip toe to reach him.

She stood with her eyes closed for a moment then broke away from Liam as Brenda came into the kitchen.

“You’re awfully quiet Jan; your face is very flushed too.’

“Has my brother been teasing you again?’

“No, he was helping me with the tea, weren’t you Liam?’

“Yes, I was.’

Liam carried the tray in with the tea and then passed them around he gave Janice hers and her hand was trembling.’

Don’t be nervous Jan; I don’t bite you know.’

Brenda had her homework books out; Danny helped her though the subject of Enzymes; whilst Liam and Janice looked at each other from across the room.

Janice sipped on her tea nervously; as Liam asked her if he could help her with her homework.’

“I’ve done most of mine earlier before I came over.’

“You’re a good girl Jan; you will go far.’

And so will you.’

Liam cleared the cups away when they had all finished and Janice began to wash up.

“Would you like to come out with me sometime Jan?’

“I don’t know; I haven’t been on a date before.’
