The man who was obviously tired urged the dog to do something as he wanted to get home to bed. They turned the corner then were gone from site.

“It was now just after one o’clock in the morning and Dennis let out a massive yawn.

Two hours to go he thought as he looked at his Rolex watch that Julia had bought him last Christmas. Suddenly he saw the lights of a car moving within the campsite and as it got nearer the exit he saw that it was Ralph Mason and Rob Black. He dived down so that the lights from Ralph’s car didn’t give him away. Once they were gone Dennis turned on the engine and drove into the caravan site car park again and left the engine running and the heater on to warm himself. The heat soon made him feel better and he closed his eyes and dozed off. He woke up with a jolt some time later. It was the screech of an owl. He steadied himself then turned off the engine before opening the car door to get out into the darkness. He walked to the back of the car opened the boot and took out the Geri can of petrol and then crept towards the caravan where the Webster’s would be sleeping. Dennis counted the caravans until he found the one he wanted. The tyre tacks from Ralph Mason’s car gave away which one it was. He opened the can and began to slosh it all over the caravan until it was empty. Then he stood back and lit a match and then threw it towards the entrance. The blue flame from the match ignited the petrol and the flames erupted right around the caravan.

Dennis ran back to the car tossed the Geri can into the boot then got in. he started up the engine then pulled out of the car park. He glanced behind him as the caravan was now a ball of flames.

“Job done he said to himself, as he accelerated down the road.

Seamus tossed and turned in the caravan he found it hard adjusting to sleeping in a strange bed. The window was open slightly as he liked fresh air. Annie was dead to the world and snoring softly he was half in and half out of sleep but it was the pungent aroma in the bedroom that woke him up fully. He sniffed the air and it was unmistakable; it was petrol fumes. He shook Annie from her sleep and then went to his children’s rooms and woke them as the caravan erupted into flames.

“Wake up the caravan is on fire; grab what you can and let’s get out of here.’

Throwing a blanket over his wife and kids he used a tee towel to open the caravan door he threw them outside onto the grass. He then went back and got the shotgun and cartridges He put his coat over his head as his wife and children were screaming for him to get out. He ran to the doorway and launched himself. Landing on his side, he felt his shoulder give way as the shoulder dislocated itself. The pain registered in his brain and on his face. He immediately and he cried out in agony as the muscles and tendon had torn.

“Liam here take this gun his father winced go and get the campsite manager to ring the fire brigade and then ring Ralph Mason. The caravan was now fully ablaze; in a few minutes it would just be a shell.

Liam ran on the grass in his bare feet to the Campsite manager’s caravan. When he got there Mr Edward Saint was already on the phone having heard one of the tyres explode. Luckily, there was no-one hurt he said as he allowed Liam to use the phone to call Ralph Mason.

“Stay put said Ralph; I’m going to get to you as soon as I can; meanwhile stay with the police.’
