All he needed was some one to spoil. He felt lonely, and depressed. He just needed something, someone in his life to make him happy, so he can make them happy. And he soon plans to find the one, hopefully.

''I believe that if I treat her right, and let her know that I love, that she'll be happy again, and be loved. That's all I want, I just want her to completely happy.. She's the only thing I care about, and I want to prove it to her.. No matter what I have to do to get her to understand it.. I love her..''

58. Purpose

Harry’s POV

Stephanie and Emmy where in the small kitchen of the hotel room, talking and catching up, mostly girl things you know, while John and myself were in the living room, staring at a football game on the TV.

I had noticed John’s Green Bay Packers sweatshirt he was wearing when we came in the door earlier, and it reminded me that Emmy has told me her family have always been Packers fan. I knew Emmy was perfect for me, she’s beautiful, smart, gorgeous, amazing, and a Packers fan..

‘’I’m a Packer’s fan too.’’ I say, breaking our awkward silence. He looks over at me, eyebrows raised with a sly smirk on his face. ‘’You don’t look like the type to.. like football.’’ He says.

I smile a little, laughing to myself. This was so awkward that it was funny as hell. But I need to speak to this man like a normal person would, he’s my girlfriend’s dad.

‘’I do though. A lot.’’ I shrug lightly. ‘’So, you’re a fashion and interior designer, you own an enterprise business, and you’re a Packer’s fan. Damn.. Emmy really found her one.’’ John laughs a little, smiling bigger than I’ve ever seen.

‘’Yeah, I uh, it doesn’t fit my look but it’s what I like.’’ I say. ‘’You know boy, at first I thought you were just.. the one night stand type. Thought you’d leave Emmy quick.. break her heart. But.. ever since you came around, she’s been doing a lot better. Every time I call to check on her she’s either laughing or I can hear the smile in her voice.’’ He sighs with a smile still on his face.

‘’Her depression has always been bad.. but since you’ve been in her life, it’s gotten better. Her mother and I are glad that she’s happy. As long as you keep my daughter happy and you love her… I might be able to accept you.’’ He says, smirking as he looks over at me.

‘’I do love her. And I try my best to keep her happy. She makes me happy too.’’ I admit. ‘’You’re alright, Harry. You should know I sort of like you since I called you by your name and not your last.’’ He says as he stands up, smiling at me one last time before going towards the bathroom.

He likes me, somewhat. In a good way though.

“This is so nice, Harry, you didn’t have to go through all of this for us.’’ Stephanie smiles at me as the waiter steps away from the table, he just got our drink order. ‘’It’s my pleasure, Mrs. Matthews. I wanted to make sure your stay in New York was memorable.’’ I smile back.

Stephanie sat across from Emmy, leaving me to sit across from John. It wasn’t as bad as I figured though, especially since our chat earlier at the hotel. Emmy

"New York is lovely, thank you so much for suggesting this idea Harry. You truly have a big heart, especially when you thought about us first. Oh, Emmy I hope you keep this one, he's a good one.'' Stephanie says with a bright smile as she winks at Emmy.

''Mom.. seriously.'' Emmy sighs, an embarrassed smile on her. ''Thank you.'' I say back to her. She only smiles again.

Stephanie was a kind and nice person, very friendly and honest. She is definitely a good mother.

"New York is quite interesting, I'd say so myself.'' John says, his words since we got here. It was making me a little nervous before, but knowing that he's actually speaking aloud is making me less sweaty and shaky.

My hands are literally shaking and my palms are sweating. It's crazy to think that I'm this worked up about dinner with Emmy's parents, but it's true, I just care a lot about what they think of me. A whole lot.

"Now remember darling, we weren't quite sure what to get you.. We hope you like it.'' Stephanie says as Emmy hands me the small gift bag. I only smile at them in return.

Emmy watches with a light smile on her face as I take the piece green tissue paper and stick my hand inside the bag. I grab a hold of the box that was inside and pull it out. I open the box and see that it was a really nice watch.

‘’Wow, this is.. amazing. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Matthews. I really needed a watch actually.’’ I smile, it was the truth. I had been planning on getting me a new one for a while, but now I’m glad I haven’t.

‘’Emmy told us that you said you didn’t want anything.. but I couldn’t stand for you to go giftless.’’ Stephanie smiles as I look up to her. ‘’It’s wonderful, thank you.’’ I smile one last time before we move on to the last new.

‘’Okay..’’ Emmy pauses as she grabs one of the last things off the coffee table, it wasn’t much but it was enough for the four of us. ‘’This is.. from Harry, to me.’’ She smiles, blushing a little as she glances over at me.

I bite the inside of my cheek, getting a little nervous. She beings to tear the paper off the box, my heart began to skip a few beats here and there. I was only nervous because I wasn’t sure if it was good enough. I mean seriously it’s not the only thing I’ve gotten her, and it’s not the best. I have the best saved for when her parents go back to the hotel….

So far Emmy had opened a few jewelry items and clothing items from me, mostly material things you know, because she’s my girlfriend.

I hadn’t even realized she had opened the box until after I heard Stephanie’s comment. ‘’Emmy, it’s beautiful.’’ She says with a gasp leaving her mouth. I look over at Emmy to see her smiling down at the necklace in the box, blushing.

’Harry.’’ She mumbles, biting her bottom lip as she carefully runs her fingertips over the diamonds. ‘’Are those real.. diamonds?” John asks me, furrowing his eyebrows lightly as I look up at him.

It is a very expensive piece of jewelry, but Emmy's worth it for sure. I want to make her happy, I have to make her happy. It's what I am determined to do.

‘’Yes sir. One hundred percent real.’’ I smile lightly as I look back at Emmy. ‘’You like it, babe?” I ask in a whisper. She smiles, looking into my eyes. ‘’I love it. Thank you Harry.’’ She whispers back, leaning to my lips for a quick, simple kiss.

Her soft lips against mine were giving me a semi-hard, but I know I’ll be able to get her later on, just not soon enough I guess.

‘’There’s another box.’’ Stephanie points out. ‘’Oh.’’ Emmy simply says as she pulls the second box from the first, I had them taped together, barely though. Emmy opens it and her smile gets bigger.

‘’Harry..’’ She sighs, in a good way, with a smile on that pretty face of hers. ‘’Do you like it?’’ I ask softly as I lean against her a little. She laughs to herself as she nods in return, staring down at the necklace.

‘’I love it.’’ She mumbles as she takes my hand from her leg and interlaces our fingers together. ‘’I love you.’’ She says lightly. ‘’I love you too.’’ I say a tad louder as I press my lips against her temple, giving her a sweet kiss, one that my girl deserves.

‘’That must be your birthstone, Harry?’’ Stephanie says. ‘’It is.’’ Emmy replies before I could say anything. ‘’I wanted you to always remember me, no matter what.’’ I say as I squeeze her hand tight. She returns the favor to me.

Emmy will never be able to understand how much I love her. She makes my world go around. She makes me happy, makes me smile. She’s my everything, my entire life. My world, my universe.

She’s my purpose.
