My True Teen-Mom Story

January 20, 2017

It's only about nine o'clock but I'm already exhausted and ready for bed. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and since I didn't have a babysitter, I had to take Savannah with me. I'm four months postpartum now and I'm so close to being back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I averaged around 108-110 before Savannah, I maxed at 152 during pregnancy, and I'm officially down to 116. As far as stretch marks go, I really don't have that many. Honestly, my post-period body is basically the same as my pre-pregnancy body. I just wanna lose a couple more pounds because my tummy has a little more pooch than I'd like.

So when I woke up this morning, my shirt was soaked and my sheet was a little wet. I assumed Savannah (who was sleeping next to me) had peed and leaked out of her diaper, but after checking her, I realized that nope. My boob had leaked breastmilk all over, so I had to pump as soon as I woke up. Ah, the mom life. I love watching day in the life of teen mom vlogs because it's like those are the people I relate with, as weird as that sounds. I live in a really conservative town with mainly old people, so I'm basically the only teen mom within a twenty mile radius, which makes it hard. Don't get me wrong, my mom is great, but I just hate how isolated I feel.

I never really tried gripe water until today and let me tell you, I'm buying a hundred more bottles so I never run out. I'm keeping some in the first aid kit, the diaper bag, my car, and anywhere else you could think of. She was fussy all day and nothing could get her to stop crying so I decided to try a little bit of gripe water that I got from her shower and she stopped crying within ten minutes. That stuff is amazing.

Matthew's work and school schedule has been crazy lately so he hasn't seen Savannah in a few days, but he's stopping by when he gets off work at 10:00. This is technically supposed to be his weekend with her but his parents are going out of town for the weekend and told him they'd rather wait until they get home for the baby to come over.

I have some strong feelings towards his parents but I'm going to keep my opinions to myself because they aren't so nice :))))))

But I'm not complaining. It just means I get to spend more time with my babygirl. I could never be upset about that. I wanted Matthew to spend the weekend here so he could still get his time with the baby, but my mom makes the rules (one of the negatives about having a baby and living at home).

Oh, and also. I discussed when I would be going back to work with my mom and she told me that it'd be cheaper for me to just stay at home with Savannah because everything I make would go towards daycare anyway, which means I'm officially a stay at home mom and will be until Savannah's in preschool. It kind of makes me feel like I'm not doing anything except sitting around mooching off of people since I'm not working, but I can't say I'm not happy about this.

This was a pretty long update and I hope you all enjoyed it :) I'll talk to you guys next time!
