7. Chapter 6

"What? Is that all you dragged me out here for?" he raised his voice. The Queen's smile disappeared.

"Yes. Aren't you happy about this? Marrying a royal to continue the tradition. Besides, it will help Cordova as well as Inica," she answered. Ashton got up from his chair and walked straight to the bathroom.

I didn't see Ashton that much after that. After he can back from the bathroom he walked straight through the door.

"He was really mad," I told Kate when I was back in my room. She was helping me get ready for the dance the Queen was having tonight for me and my family. I was never good at making myself beautiful. Probably because I never had to.

"I'm telling you, Miss Anna. He likes you!" she replied.

"I don't believe you and you can stop calling me Miss Anna, Kate. I don't mind," I groaned. Deep down I kind of hoped that Ashton would like me more than a friend because over the first week I have been here I had a crush on him. Kate is the only one that knows about it. Kate sighed.

"Anna, you're beautiful! Any guy in their right mind would love to be with you! Have you seen the way Ashton looks at you?" she asked. I shook my head. I'm bad at telling if a guy likes me or not. I heard someone clear their throat and looked over to the door. It was the tailor bringing me my dress.

"Thank you so much! Just put it over there," I said and pointing over to a table. He did what he was told and left. "Anyways. I'm not good at telling if a guy likes me or not!" I admitted as I walked over to where the dress it. I touched the sleeves of it. It was a nice light purple with splashes of pink.

"Well I know when a guy likes someone and Ashton totally likes you!" she confirmed. She looked so confident about it that I didn't question further. Kate is one of my closest friends here. If she thinks Ashton likes me I'm just going to let her think that even if I don't think that."I'll leave you so you can get dressed. I'll finish your hair and make-up when you are done," she said and left.

I walked into the ballroom where everyone was dancing. It was so beautiful with its glass cups and plates and white table clothes. I've never been to a ball. I always thought they were only in fairy tales. It doesn't seem real but walking into the ballroom I knew it was real.

"You look great," I heard a voice which scared me. I turned and it was Ashton. I blushed. "Did I scare you?" he asked.

"No!" I played it off like I didn't jump literally 2 inches off the ground.

"Sure," he replied with a playful eye roll. We both chuckled. "You really do look amazing," he complimented. I thanked him. We talked more until the Queen walked to the stage.

"Welcome to the welcome ball for the new poor people we took in. The Lee family!" Everyone clapped. "But that isn't all I wanted to make this ball for. It's time for my son, Ashton to settle down with a wife and I'm happy to announce that Ashton and Isabella of Cordova will be getting married!" she added. I looked over to Ashton and he looked angry. He really didn't want to do this. I wonder why....
