5. Chapter 4

Dinner went okay but I wouldn't say great because it was awkward sitting at a big table and none of the teens were allowed to talk because it was too rude. But the food made it all up and afterward Ashton asked if I wanted to pick back up on what we were talking about which was about how crazy our relatives can be. We walked to his room instead. My room was pretty close to his which was kind of weird.

"What is England like?" Ashton asked all of a sudden. I thought about that question for a while.

"It's beautiful but cold a lot of times. There's a lot of nice people and a lot of mean people. I can't really describe it though because it is like any other country but with landmarks, you wouldn't see anywhere else," I answered. Ashton chuckled.

"What makes it different from Inica?"

"There's a clock called the Big Ben. A lot of people from all over the world would come to see it! There's a lot of beautiful castles. Inica has a lot of beautiful castles but there small compared to England's!" I answered.

"What did your parents use to do in England that made them come here for a better start?" Ashton asked. That made me stop. My past life in England is quite dark. If I told Ashton it could ruin my family's trust with the Irwins and maybe even Inica.

"They owned a shoe store," I lied. Before the conversion could carry on my maid, Katerina walked in.

"Miss Anna. The queen said for me to catch you because she wanted to talk to Ashton right now," she told both me and Ashton. I nodded and got up from the chair I was sitting at. Kate and I walked out. "I think Ashton likes you," she blurted out when we were far away from where Ashton couldn't hear.

"That is unlikely. He isn't supposed to," I replied.

"It's not like it hasn't happened before," she retorted back. I looked at her confused. She caught my confused face and slap her forehead. "Oh crap! I wasn't supposed to say that!"

"Don't worry! You didn't give anything away to me and this could be our little secret," I suggested. Kate smiled.

"Oh thank you, Miss Anna! I'm glad you didn't question further because I'm terrible at keeping secrets and I would hate to make the queen mad," she replied in a rush. She looked worried and thankful. I hugged her to calm her down.

When I got to my room, I was super tired. What Kate said made me wonder a lot. Did someone like a poor person in the Poor Tradition before? Who?, I thought. Those questions were in my head for the rest of the night.
