Through My Eyes || Niall Horan

Life can wear on us. Joys can brighten us. Disaster can fall on us. Events can fall on us. Events can enliven us. There are so many events that can come out way and we need to let our soul and mind shine through.

You need to ensure: Your soul is aligned with our outward expressions. Your mind is aligned with our interactions. Your inner self is articulated and connected to our external community. Your eyes translate what is inside of you. What are they saying?

Follow Charlotte recount her adventures with her late husband Niall Horan through the eyes of someone who has been through it all.

1. Prologue

They say that your eyes can tell your entire life’s story, your entire existence and your entire being. They say that your eyes are the windows to your soul. You can simply look into someone’s eyes and see who they are. Your eyes give way to what your feeling and thinking in a certain moment. They connect you with complete strangers in the most unexpected ways. Your emotions poor out of your eyes at any given point in time. Your eyes do not simply provide you with sigh but provide a deeper look inside you. Your eyes deliver insight to what is on your mind and in your entire being.

Don’t believe me? Think about it some more.

When you happen to be talking to someone, you can tell from their eyes whether or not they are actually listening or really engaged with what you are saying.

When you meet someone, you can almost immediately tell what type of person he or she is through his or her eyes. Are the intimidating, intense, aloof, upright, threatening, welcoming, thoughtful or friendly?

When you look into their eyes you can practically tell their mood. You can tell if someone is hurt, serious, hurt, ornery, happy, sad, angry or in love.

When you’re in that deep conversation you can tell if they are interested or disinterested, attentive or distracted.

Our eyes communicate something incredible about us. They communicate something about our entity and soul.

As we age or encounter tragedy those eyes communicate something a little deeper. They tell people whether or not the same person is present; the same person they knew twenty days or twenty years ago. When we look into their eyes we could possibly see something entirely different.

The weight of the years has worn what was once inside and there is some sort of emptiness of something that used to envelop you whole.

The impact of a tragedy has so deeply impacted someone that the beautiful twinkle is completely absent from what used to be.

When I looked into my grandmother’s eyes recently, I did not see the same person I once knew. There were sporadic sparks of what I once remembered but clear gaps of what was once present. Has her soul changed? Can it be recovered?

Yes, it has been said that our eyes are a window into our soul and I do believe that this is true. Our beautiful eyes communicate a lot about what is happening inside each of us and what is on our minds. They give people a peek in, letting us navigate inside get a sense of that person

Obviously there is more to pure emotion than simply our eyes and yes, not everyone uses their eyes. There are so many other wonderful outlets for our soul and mind to shine through.

What’s the point of this? In simplicity the point is: Life can wear on us. Joys can brighten us. Disaster can fall on us. Events can fall on us. Events can enliven us. There are so many events that can come out way and we need to let our soul and mind shine through.

We need to ensure: Our soul is aligned with our outward expressions. Our mind is aligned with our interactions. Our inner self is articulated and connected to our external community. Our eyes translate what is inside of us. What are they saying?
