2. Rival Houses

Draco's POV

She was in my thoughts all the time. I would sit in the Great Hall for a meal and be so deep in thought that Blaise had to push me off the bench to get my attention once.

"Dude what's up with you?" Blaise asked sternly as I shook my head to clear it.

He had clearly been trying to get my attention for a while. I grinned guiltily.

"Sorry. Just lost in thought," I replied innocently.

Blaise rolled his eyes before saying, "So that's where you've been for the last five minutes. It's a girl isn't it?"

I tried to control my blush to no avail.

"N-no it's not!" I protested

Blaise smirked and smacked my shoulder.

"Dude! Why didn't you tell me? I can't believe you finally found a girl! Who is she?" He asked excitedly.

"It's no one!" I tried to say.

Of course I she had to pass the table at that moment. Of course I had to be unable to look away. Of course Blaise noticed.

"Oh man! She's a cute one. I can see why you like her. What's her name?" Blaise asked starting to calm down.

"Phoenix," I mumbled into my goblet.

Blaise scratched his chin than wrapped an arm around Pansy. He seemed to be deep in thought.

"You know," Blaise whispered leaning over to me, "she is a Gryffindor, and not just any Gryffindor, Potter's friend by the looks of it. Weaslys too."

I looked over and sure enough Phoenix was sitting with Potter, Granger, and Weasly at the Gryffindor table. I sucked in a long slow breath. Finally, I just pulled my hat off my head and threw it on the table angrily.

Phoenix's POV

I laughed and talked with Harry, Hermione, and Ron glancing over at the other tables from time to time.

"What are you looking for?" Asked Ron noticing my wandering eyes.

"Nothing," I answered turning back to the trio.

They looked at me suspiciously, but continued to eat and talk. Truthfully, I was looking for Draco. He never said which house he was in. I was finishing up when I saw him. At the Slytherin table. I gasped dropping my fork with a clatter.

"Phoenix? Are you all right?" Hermione asked.

"Um...yeah I'm fine," I squeaked out.

I was very surprised. He was in Slytherin. He didn't seem like a Slytherin. Why did we have to be in rival houses? That was just my luck. He would hate me when he found out I was a Gryffindor! Why did this always happen to me? I stood up and left the Hall. I let out a frustrated huff as I walked into the library. Guess who was in there?
