There's no time

It had been 3 years since Jacob Stone had been reported missing. It came as a shock to those who knew him best, as he was quite happy for the average 13 year old. I'm Daisy Thomas and I'm gonna tell you what actually happened to the him.

Daisy, Daniel and Christopher are mourning at their friend's funeral. But then a sinister figure emerges from the shadows of their small town. After many strange events, Daisy and her friends are soon swept up into a mystery that no one could even begin to imagine. It's not long before they realise that the clock is ticking, and for something's, there's no time...

20. Part 2 - Chapter 20

"Sorry honey, I'll be back in a minute," she said flirtatiously to Tarrin. "I have some 'unfinished' business to attend to." She really knew how to get on my nerves; talking in riddles, making sure that nothing made sense. What was so important that she needed to keep me in the dark about? Sighing deeply, she left the boys side and marched over a machine. I recognised that the top of it was made from the large hulk of metal pieces and wires that Harry had been working on.

"You've seen this before, haven't you?" I nodded.

"Yeah, Harry was working on it the..." What should I say, the day you almost kicked the life out of me? "other day," I finished.

"Correct, you get 5 points, come on now everyone. Clap with me." Trinia let out a shriek of laughter. "Oh I forgot. Your hands are in a bit of a knot." She'd completely lost it. She should be in an asylum. Not in a lab running experiments and using chemicals. She was dangerous. Bending over Daniel, she flicked a switch on his chains and like me, he went flying backwards. His head flew back. If he had been conscious before, he definitely wasn't now.

"This is the time machine. If I didn't go forwards in time, then what did I do?" She said she was going to tell me not ask more questions. She must have read my mind. "One must ask questions to get answers," that still didn't make sense. She was asking the questions and I was needing answers. "What did I do?" She repeated, more sternly this time. It was a difficult question. If she didn't go forward she must have gone backward.

She must have changed time from what it was originally. She'd gone back, then forward, then back again. In other words, I'd lived more than one life. A life that Jacob and I had been married, had children.

"Wait, is Rebecca my only child?" I asked imploringly. She clapped again. "That's it, you're thinking along the right lines now. Yes she is." Ok so Jacob and I had had one child. But then for a reason unknown to me, Trinia had gone back in time. She'd snatched me from my family when I was a child.

"You went back," it was difficult to phrase, and understand, it was way too much, "to when I was a baby. You took me from my family. And, and brought me here. Why?" Trinia sneered. I still didn't understand. Had I done something? Something that had made her reset my life, and potentially Jacob's. If so, then what? What could have been so bad?
