There's no time

It had been 3 years since Jacob Stone had been reported missing. It came as a shock to those who knew him best, as he was quite happy for the average 13 year old. I'm Daisy Thomas and I'm gonna tell you what actually happened to the him.

Daisy, Daniel and Christopher are mourning at their friend's funeral. But then a sinister figure emerges from the shadows of their small town. After many strange events, Daisy and her friends are soon swept up into a mystery that no one could even begin to imagine. It's not long before they realise that the clock is ticking, and for something's, there's no time...

24. Part 1 - Chapter 24

Somehow I had to find out what year it was. I didn't want to attract any attention to myself by asking around in this brightly lit town. Then I had an idea. I took my my phone out my back pocket and turned it on. It said Wednesday 14th of May 2188 Daisy's birthday. Along way in the future, but still, it was Daisy's birthday. Trinia must have brought us here on this precise day for a reason. Everything she did seemed to have a reason, even if it was unclear.

Now I needed a plan. A plan to get everyone back to their lives in the right times. But how? There was no use in getting everyone out and making a run for it. The time machine was with Trinia in the lab. So if we needed to do anything, it would be to get rid of her. As I walked around the outskirts of the village, I wondered what was happening to the others. I started to realise that they could be in a lot of danger. What was Trinia going to do to them? By now my bare top half had started shivering. I needed another layer. But until then, I should keep moving.

Did they think that I'd just ditched them? Well I hadn't. I was going to find a way to get us out of this nightmare. How, I wasn't quite sure. Why did everything have to be so difficult? Why where there so many questions? The thought of Daisy and Jacob kept coming back. It wouldn't leave me alone. If somehow he ever came back, would she choose him over me? I know that sounds crazy, but after everything that's been going on, it wasn't impossible. Actually it was highly possible.

I took my phone out again, I was going to go on google maps. I wanted to see how everything had changed before I put a plan into action. Unlike Daisy, I come prepared and don't make it up as I go along. She was famous at school for that. I smiled, remembering the time we had a French end of year speaking assessment that we where supposed to have memorised. She hadn't written anything. When it was her turn, she stood up in front of everyone and said something's that she'd made up on the spot. She got the highest mark out of the class.

I typed in the village name. No results found. Stupid device. I tried some of the neighbouring towns. Nothing. All the names where different. I wouldn't be surprised if the shape of the country had changed. I put it in. Loading... At least the name was the same. I was right. The once straight lines where broken. I zoomed out. The amount of land on earth had shrunk immensely.

"What you got there?" said a voice that I didn't recognise.
