There's no time

It had been 3 years since Jacob Stone had been reported missing. It came as a shock to those who knew him best, as he was quite happy for the average 13 year old. I'm Daisy Thomas and I'm gonna tell you what actually happened to the him.

Daisy, Daniel and Christopher are mourning at their friend's funeral. But then a sinister figure emerges from the shadows of their small town. After many strange events, Daisy and her friends are soon swept up into a mystery that no one could even begin to imagine. It's not long before they realise that the clock is ticking, and for something's, there's no time...

12. Part 1 - Chapter 12

I woke with a strange sense of déjà vu. I was staring up at the sky that was now dark. However there was something different. It wasn't as silent I could hear a voice, just 1. One that I recognised. I turned onto my side and once again raw pain shot through my body. When the pain had eased slightly I opened up my eyes. Daniel was standing close to me with his back turned. With one hand he held a phone to his ear and with the other he was running his hands through his hair like he always did when he was worried.

"Yeah, we're at the Manor House" he was pacing up and down. "No mum, she's unconscious... Can you just get here as soon as possible, ok, thanks." Pocketing his phone, he rubbed his hands over his face and tilted his head to the sky. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I was scaring him again. I didn't mean to. Then I realised he was going to be angry at me. I'd gone off on my own again.

I tried to speak, to apologise, but all that came out was a faint cry of pain. Daniel spun around so fast it made me dizzy, wait, no I was going to black out again. He knelt down beside me and laid my head gently on his lap. I whimpered pathetically. Then everything went dark again as I passed out. This was another thing that I didn't want to become a habit.

This time when I woke up, I felt my body being moved and placed along a row of seats. My head was on Dan's lap again.

"Go slowly mum, any jolts and we might be in trouble." What did he mean? I couldn't think straight, I couldn't speak. I was too tired, in too much pain. I was scared that if I did speak, that I might choke, so I just looked up at his face as he held my hand. He was looking out the window, avoiding any eye contact with me.

My memory is only in short snap shots after this moment as I fell in and out of consciousness. Being taken out of a car, lying on a sofa, cold packs being applied to my torso. Daniels mum and dad where taking it in turns to nurse me. But all the time Daniel was sitting or standing by, watching me.
