There's no time

It had been 3 years since Jacob Stone had been reported missing. It came as a shock to those who knew him best, as he was quite happy for the average 13 year old. I'm Daisy Thomas and I'm gonna tell you what actually happened to the him.

Daisy, Daniel and Christopher are mourning at their friend's funeral. But then a sinister figure emerges from the shadows of their small town. After many strange events, Daisy and her friends are soon swept up into a mystery that no one could even begin to imagine. It's not long before they realise that the clock is ticking, and for something's, there's no time...

11. Part 1 - Chapter 11

The woman opened it. She was scary up close. Not that she wasn't scary at a distance, trust me, she was. Her skin was impossibly pale. In fact it looked slightly purplish like she was constantly angry. Her eyes did make her look angry. They where greyish, more washed out than mine. But there was something in her pupils. They weren't quite full circles, more like ovals. Today she was wearing greenish grey overalls with the same singes on. Whatever she and the other man where working on they got burnt a lot.

"Who are you?" She said looking me up and down, scrutinising every inch of me. Before I had time to answer she asked another question "Are you the girl Harry said wanted to talk to me?" Once again before I could answer she was off again. I could only imagine what a conversation would be like with her. Impossible.

"Harry!" she screeched

"What!" he yelled back

"A girls here, is this her?"

She reached out one of her long fingered hands towards my wrist and yanked me in to the room. It was huge. Large square slabs of stone where on the floor. Coloured chemicals stood in bottles and flasks. Some bubbling and fizzing. It was a moment before I realised some of the bubbles where going down instead of up. There was a metal table in the centre of the room covered in wires and electronics with notes in what seemed to be random places. A grand oak desk was at one wall stacked high with papers, notepads and graphs. There was a small rag doll sitting on top of one of the piles. It had button eyes and looked absolutely terrifying. I looked away.

This stable wasn't a stable. It was being used as a lab. The walls where painted in white wall wash. On the one far side was wide wooden grand door that lead to 'Harry's' lab. She had a vice like grip that was cutting of my circulation. "This one?"  She said pushing me in front of her. Harry didn't have a lab, it was more of a workshop with scraps of metal and filings. A fierce looking sheep dog lay in a tattered basket in the corner of the room. Harry was lying under a ginormous hulk of metal pieces and wires. He put the spanner down and looked up at me with a wink.

"That's the one,"

"And what exactly did she want to talk to me about?"she snarled

"Why don't you ask her?" He said keeping his cool and going back to his work. She gave an exasperated huff and shoved me by the shoulder into her lab. She turned and closed the door to Harry's workshop

"What do you want?" She snapped at me. "Wait, your the girl from ... that boys funeral aren't you?" She wasn't one for letting people speak.

"Yes, I was just wondering how you knew each other because I don't think he ever talked about you so..."

"Get out." she said quietly, she was clutching the side of her desk and was staring at one of the stones on the floor.

"Pardon?" I said hesitantly.

"I said get out!" She had snapped out of the trance and was flying into a rage.

She flung herself at me knocking me onto the hard floor. She was still screaming at me to get out and was kicking me towards the door. Pain shot through my rib cage with every blow. She flung open the door and and literally kicked me out. I lay on the ground outside her lab. This wasn't a first for me. I didn't want to make it into a habit. Daniel wouldn't be too happy about it.

I tried to stand but my legs wouldn't let me. I crawled towards the tree I'd hidden behind not too long ago, but before I reached it I felt the darkness taking over in my eyes. The pressure began to build again in my head as I started to lose consciousness.
