There's no time

It had been 3 years since Jacob Stone had been reported missing. It came as a shock to those who knew him best, as he was quite happy for the average 13 year old. I'm Daisy Thomas and I'm gonna tell you what actually happened to the him.

Daisy, Daniel and Christopher are mourning at their friend's funeral. But then a sinister figure emerges from the shadows of their small town. After many strange events, Daisy and her friends are soon swept up into a mystery that no one could even begin to imagine. It's not long before they realise that the clock is ticking, and for something's, there's no time...

10. Part 1 - Chapter 10

I'd been wandering round the village when I came to the church. I'd completely forgotten about the lady I had seen. Maybe I could go and talk to her today, ask her the things I wanted to know. I still had at least 3 hours. Before I went to see her I went to the florist to get some fresh flowers  for Jacob. I got some more daisies and laid them on the ground. I smiled and made my way to the Manor stables.

When I arrived I could hear loud mechanical clanking and other strange sounds. I knocked on the door. The sounds stopped and a man that looked like he was in his early 20's opened the door. His black hair was messy and sticking up in almost every direction. He wore a singed leather apron and matching gloves that hung out the front pocket over a pair of ripped jeans. He was twisting a piece of cloth covered in oil stains  around his finger. He asked what I wanted as his tall thin figure leant against the door frame.

I told him that I wanted to talk to the woman who lived here. He rubbed his cheeks, smearing grease all over them.

"Trinia's out at the moment, she'll be back in an hour or so." I nodded and turned to walk away "Do you mind me asking why you want to see her" he said looking down his crooked nose at me.

"Um...yeah... I just wanted to ask her how she knew Jacob, you know, the guy they found dead. He was my best friend and I saw her at the funeral so, yeah, I guess I just wanted to know."

"Ah, well yes that's quite a story" he said smiling mysteriously "One I'm not sure she'll want to tell you, but you can still ask," Before I could ask what he meant, he'd closed the door and I the whirring noises started up again. An hour. I'd come back in 2 for good measure. I didn't want to make an awkward moment with the strange guy. Truth be told, I didn't think he seemed all together in the head. Slightly loopy. Minimal contact would probably be best.

I hung out in the park for the next couple of hours on my own. I was wondering what I was going to say as I sat on the swings. Would I end up stuttering and not being able to get my words out? Probably. 2 hours later I decided to go back to the stables, or whatever they where because they definitely weren't keeping horses in there.

I was at the stable door again for the second time today. My heart and lungs had seized up and I was finding it hard to breathe. I was so nervous. I didn't know why. I think it was because I thought I knew everyone, and now I had met 2 strange people that I didn't know existed. Or it could have been that I was going to find out how my best friend knew this person he never even talked about. My arm was shaking as I knocked on the door again.
