Walking the beach without you

1. Walking the beach without you

I miss you today,

And I’ll probably miss you tomorrow.

There is barely a day I can go;

keep walking on,

For the thought of you is clingy

It sticks like sand to wet feet.

Maybe in a decade,

the thought of you won’t hurt

It wont sting like the jelly fish in the sea,

but that day may never come

I just can’t dream of it

For the thought of you is painful

but it brings me great joy.

Watching the sea follow the shore

Like my thoughts follow yours.

Sunny days at the beach were once

my favourite

Now they leave me with

A salty taste,

A daydream of a past life.

Your face in the morning sky.
