It's several hours before dawn, and the chosen of Targaten are preparing.

Ryn sits by his sword and pistol, thinking deeply.

"What's goin' on there, Popper?" asks a man, sitting down.

"Never been to war," says Ryn.

"Ah yeah. You would've been a few years old in the final battle," says the man.

"Guess so," says Ryn.

"Ah, it'll be okay, kid. Think of it like a game. Back in the old days, we had these moving picture boxes with these controller things, and the games on them. Fabulous. But you had to shoot enemies and stuff. All in good faith. Just games. Think of it this way. Also that these creatures are evil. They kill people. Heck, they killed over six billion of us. We only killed a few of them. They way outnumber us. They could use less numbers. Actually, they're an invasive species, see, so they should just go back to where they came from," says the man.

"They should. But where did they come from?" asks Ryn. He already knew. Parallel world crashed with this one. No way to get back after the worlds shifted back again. There had been a point in time where you could cross through from one to the other. Not anymore. The Scintulla were trapped.

"Ah, nobody knows for sure. Moon? Mars? Jupiter? They're aliens, probably. Doesn't matter. They're demon creatures and need to get out or die," says the man. He gets up and leaves Ryn alone again.

"Soldiers," calls Targaten. Ryn gets up, unsure about everything. "We are going to move out, now. Get yourselves ready. Be at the gate in five minutes." There's a lot of scrambling to the gate.

Ryn grabs a man's shoulder.

"B-but, he said dawn," Ryn says.

"It'll be dawn by the time we slaughter the things," says the man, the pulls away from Ryn. Ryn looks down.

"We move out!" Cries pierce the air.

The gates open and the battalion moves out.

Ryn moves with the crowd.

And slowly moves to the forest.
