1. Prologue

The object slowly rolled away from me, and I soon realized what had happened. The doll's head had fallen off, in the same moment I hit it against the floor.

Not because the doll had a special place in my heart, I just didn’t want it to break. The tears started rolling down my chubby cheeks before a girly baby scream left my lungs. It began as a scream but ended with a high-pitched sob. Not long after could I hear my father shout from the hallway. He shouted I could be quiet but I just kept going. I threw my head back and closed my crying eyes. Hysterically I dropped the doll and began to dramatically throw my arm around and hit my legs against the floor repeatedly. It wasn’t for long before I could feel him in the room. He came from the back and put his arms around my chest. He laughed a boy-ish laugh before sitting down beside me. I stopped my sobbing and looked at him with a surprised face. I watched him look around me before realizing what had happened. He smiled at me before crawling over to the head and grabbing the body. He succeeds in the first try and handed me my doll. He crawled back to my side and pulled us closer together. He smiled proudly and then looked back at my father who had entered the living room to check up on me. He smiled at him and gave him too thumbs-up before turning around and enter the kitchen.

“It is better now Mi-Na?” I liked the way he treated me. Maybe I was just a 4-year-old girl but to him, I was like a little sister. He smiled and ran a hand through my hair. He was 6-year-old and had a brother that was 3-yard-older than him. He had begun in school and on the football team after school but came over, whenever he could. After I had lost my mother to an unknown reason he was here all the time. He even made his homework with me. He would read a story for me before he would leave so I had a story to fall asleep to.

“Sehun” I looked at him with admiring in my eyes, and a smile on my lips. He looked back at me with a warm expression. He was no longer chubby like me, but he was starting to be skinny and tall. He still had a little ‘baby’ fat but not much. I wanted him to look young all his life, but I knew that someday he would be looking like an old man. I smiled with my whole face and shouted as loud I could.

“SARANGHAE!” At the same time, I crawled up on him, so we both laid down. With all my weight, I was on top and looked at his laughing face. He smiled at me and returned my feeling. His legs were in constant movement but he gently laid his arms around me and started talking again.

“Hey Mi-Na” He looked into my eyes. “Let's never separate! Let's grow up and live together. You will never be alone again” He smiled and I nodded like crazy. He pulled his little finger in front of me and we made a promise. A promise I never expected to be broken.
