The Hunters Work

A girl is the most fearsome hunter there can be. It just so happens they can also be the cutest to the things that they have to kill. It is part of their, charm. They lure something in and then they kill them without a second thought but this older Hunter is the hardest of them all. But with one thing. She is falling for someone that is undead. Well, she thinks that he is alive. But a closer look at him tells her otherwise. But she is also falling for another Hunter. The rules of a Hunter are very clear, 1 do not fall in love for something that is dead, 2 do not fall in love with another hunter, and 3 kill every vampire and work as hard as you can. Who is she going to choose?

10. The New Hunter Came

Abner was just taking his nightly walk when he saw the new hunter that was coming for him. She looked absolutely stunning in her black leather. He stopped just to look at her and she did the same when she felt him looking. She looked away when Cody stopped walking and came back to tap her shoulder. Cody looked over at him with something that said he didn't like him. They hadn't noticed that he was the vampire yet. Good, maybe he could talk to her without her trying to kill him. She was probably the first Hunter that he hadn't wanted to kill.

"What was that about? Do you know him or something?" Cody asked as he turned her around and she looked down at her feet and started walking. He had to stop walking and make her stop as well. "What is going on? You looked at him and something happened. You seemed different.

"Nothing. Nothing at all is wrong. Now come on we still have to find this vampire," Hanna said and started walking faster than Cody. Cody looked at her oddly and jogged to catch up to her. The moment he put his hand on her arm she grabbed his hand and turned it behind his back.

"The next time you touch me or try to talk about this I will do more than hurt your staking hand. Understand?" She whispered in his ear. Hanna felt him instantly tense. Cody knew that he had overstepped a line. Their friendship had not been as stable as it had been after a case once.

"I couldn't help but overhear your little fight. Do you want some company?" Abner had asked the Hunter's. He knew what they were saying and thinking that they were growing apart. He was going to try and get between that and them so they don't hurt each other.

"Oh um, I am not sure but thank you for asking," Hanna told him but looked at him more closely. She closed her eyes as it came to her."You're one aren't you?" She asked as her head lowered to the ground. Hanna was feeling very stupid right then. It was the first time that she wasn't able to tell from a first glance.

"Yes. You're a Hunter," He said not asking but she still nodded. "And you're here to kill me aren't you?" He asked as if talking about the weather. She looked up with something of remorse in her eyes. "It is alright. I don't care. I just want to know when I would be given to death by your hands," He said smiling and putting a hand on her shoulder. Cody looked at her while her whole body had changed her feelings toward them had not she jerked from Abner's touch. Abner looked sad by it but did nothing to stop it from happening.

"I am not going to tell you. You might us the knowledge against us and then we would have to track you down all over again. I am not going to have that hap-" He could hold back the urge to kiss her any longer. Once his lips were on hers the only thing he knew was that she was meant to be his. But she pulled back before he would have done something too bad.

"I am sorry. I couldn't help myself. I do not know what came over me. I assure you that it will never happen again," He said as he released her back to her partner. Hanna was dazed and confused as to why he was saying sorry for. He left before she got to ask her questions.

"Why did you not just kill him? Why did you let him go? Hanna! Are you even listening to a word I am saying?" Cody was yelling at her. Hanna didn't realize that her feet were trying to take her to Abner. What was it with him? "Hello? Anyone home? Is he why you have been acting weird?" Cody asked after a pause. She looked over at him with horror on her face but deep down her hatred for them had been gone a little before he kissed her.

Later that day Hanna revealed that she had another case for the to go and do. Hanna had read over the case and Abner was in the city that was right next to the place where she had to go and kill the person who killed her mother and father, perhaps even her sister.

"Cody, I know that you're still mad at me for not killing him right then and there but I have another case to do. We can call someone to come drive us to the next one as well. There is a blond vampire that goes by the name of Rain. We need to find her and kill her. She is not needed for anything. She is just in the next city over. It would be really easy to do it," Hanna said.Shee was begging him now. Cody looked at her shocked.

"I am the one that begs you to do cases and now your begging me to go and do one? Who are you and what have you done to my Hanna?" Cody asked laughing at her. Hanna laughed with him. "Sure I guess. Just tell me how you got us to do two cases in one?"

"Well I asked for this one a few days ago and we are close by so we can go and do this one. I even read the file for you. Cody please. I want to kill her,"

"Okay what did she do and why are you so into wanting her dead?" Cody asked sharply.

"I am not going to tell you anything. But we are going to find her and we are going to kill her," Hanna promised and Cody shrugged his shoulders and got ready to leave once again.

"Okay, so Hanna if you read the file and know where it is we are going. Can I look at this file as well?" Cody asked as they got into the back of a cab. Hanna nodded and pulled out the file.

"Where to miss?" The cab driver asked. Hanna looked at him and then back to Cody.

"Idaho spring please," Cody said with his head still int the file. The driver looked at him and then Hanna. Hanna nodded her head once and they started to drive. "Why did she have to choice there? It is freezing up there. That's the mountains, Hanna," Cody complained as he gave her back the file. Hanna shrugged not knowing the answer.

"Maybe she lives up there Cody. You never know they could live anywhere in the world they want to," Hanna said being very mindful of who they were around. They were around someone who doesn't know who they are. Hanna let out a small laugh when she heard Cody mutter, "Smart ass," And stop talking. The driver kept giving them looks from the mirror.

When Cody and Hanna had finally gotten up to Idaho Springs they got out of the car and went the way that they knew her place to be after they paid the person who drove them. The moment Hanna saw the vampire's house she was ready to kill her.

Her house was small with red paint and white trimming. It had sun shades that were white and nice flowers around the front of the house. It looked small for a vampire's house but it was something that they could use. Hanna and Cody knocked on the door and when it opened they were shocked to see that Rain had answered the door and didn't seem to notice that they were Hunter's.

"Hi rain," Hanna said coldly and stabbed the stake into her heart and cut her head off with an ax. "Bye Rain," Hanna said and left the door open.

"Well damn. You really wanted her dead, didn't you? You wouldn't just do that if you didn't want her dead so badly. Now I have to know, what the hell did she do to piss you off?" Cody asked looking down at the dead body next to his feet shocked that Hanna had done that so fast. Hanna was not going to answer his question.
