Chapter seven

Harry has been driving for almost twenty minutes, not saying much of anything to me. I sat up in the passengers seat and took a small breath before speaking.

"Where are we going?" I asked folding my hands. I was worried what he would respond. Harry was intimidating, but everyone has a weakness.

"You'll see." He stated while turning his wheel, pulling into a field of sunflowers.

The field was a mile long, and within every turn was a beautiful sunflower, taller than either one of us. Behind the field, was a small wooden bench.

"This is my safe haven. I always come here when I need to think. You're the first to ever hear of this." He said while scratching the back of his neck.

"Why'd you take me here?" I asked playing with my fingers. He gave me a look of sympathy, and leaned towards me. "You deserve an explanation.. to all of your questions." He began.

"I saw you come out of Niall's room this morning.." my eyes immediately grew wider. "It's not what you-"

"I don't care what happened in there Ashley. You're not my property. Just be careful."

I wanted to explain that it wasn't what it looked like, but I knew it didn't matter.

"The reason I've been distant is because I wanted to keep this professional and serious, but I realized I was wrong. Everyone who lives in my house is family to me. That's how it should be."

His green eyes shimmered in the sunlight, and I was suddenly staring into them.

"When we made this deal.. what exactly is it that you need me to do?" I asked. Ever since I agreed to work for him he has never brought it up.

"That's what I wanted to explain. You've gotten a little glimpse of it with Niall. We all work for a drug trading network. None of us use drugs, we just transport them. The only problem with that, we sometimes have to take desperate measures." He explained, motioning his hands with every word and expression.

"So what is my part in all of this?" I furrowed a brow. Harry tucked his curls behind his ears and sat on the edge of the wooden bench. I felt a chill breeze of wind and my arms suddenly grew goosebumps.

"As of right now, there are two men that stole our network's drugs. Thousands of dollars worth. We know where the men are, but not the drugs." Harry paused and let out a sigh.

"I hate to say this, but attractive young women like yourself are so good at getting what you want. If everything works out correctly, I need you to hook up with one of these men. You can find out exactly where they hid the drugs."

My heart sank, and I felt a lump in my throat. I have no idea what these men are capable of. I have no idea what they could do to me. And I have no idea what they have already done.

2:00 p.m.

We entered the home by being welcomed by Anna. "Back so soon?" she asked with sarcasm. Anna rolled her eyes and stepped back into the living room. I had never spoken to Anna, but she appeared empty inside. It seemed as If something was token away from her.

"Where's Niall?" I asked waiting for a response from either Harry or Anna. It was inaudible for a few seconds, but then a sharp reply came from Anna. "Out" she quickly said.

I will never comprehend why Anna acts the way she does around me. If she took the time to understand me, and know me, I think we can be friends.
