It has only been three months since Annabelle Johnson moved to Bunkyo, Tokyo. A special place in Tokyo that has many residential areas as long as many educational opportunities. At first she despised moving there as her father received a new high paying job. But In those three months, Annabelle made a few good friends. They taught her some Japanese traditions and in return she taught them some American traditions. Everything was mostly great until she meets a group of people who call themselves The Host Club.
"Hey wait up," a voice called out behind Annabelle. Annabelle turns around to be greeted by her next door neighbor, Kanami. A girl a year ahead of her. "Did you want to go to that new cafe that just opened?" Kanami asks as her blonde hair shines bright in the sunlight. Annabelle takes out her cell phone that has a pink case with a black and white cat sticker on the back and begins to dial a number. "I'm calling my mom to see if its alright." She says. Kanami nods.
After a short conversation, Annabelle hangs up her phone and shoots Kanami a smile. "She said to be back by six." Kanami laughs and motions Annabelle to come follow her.
They walk towards the train station as it takes them to a nice little road full of shops and restaurants. Cherry trees sprung all the way down the paved road as many colorful flowers danced in the wind. People of all ages walked in groups going into the many buildings that laid down the road. Cars and taxis picking up and dropping off those groups of people as well as the train station across the street. The girls could see a little fence in cage that held a group of all different kinds of puppies.
Annabelle turns to Kanami. She notices her purple eyes wondering towards a sign that read Mino Cafe. Annabelle giggles and takes Kanami's hand pointing her towards the fence. "Do you think if I bought a puppy, if my parents would let me keep it?" She asks curiously. Kanami places her hand to her chin and thinks, "It doesn't hurt to try, does it?" which makes start jumping and giggling. "Let's buy it after seeing that new cafe. It's probably packed so the earlier we are, the better." Annabelle insists. Kanami agrees and they both walk down the street towards Mino Cafe.
Annabelle glitters in delight as she opens the glass door to the cafe. A tiny bell rings throughout the store signaling that a customer is here. Kanami smiles at Annabelle showing her beautiful white teeth. "I guess we were wrong," Says Kanami, "There's not a single person in sight." Annabelle frowns, "Its such a shame too as its gorgeous in here. I would defiantly come in here again." She looks at the light beige color of the walls that's accented with a dark mocha color. Pictures of nature in a black and white filter spread throughout the walls making it look homey. A tiny waterfall is placed on a table near the far right side of the corner. The temperature was not too shabby either as it was the perfect combination of warm and cool.
Annabelle walks over to one of the many wooden tables. The tables are square, dark and fitted for four. A gigantic window with a greenish blue curtain is placed opposite from the group of tables. Annabelle notices the many people passing by in which fills a whole in her heart. Why was nobody stopping in? She wondered.
Suddenly an elder pops in from the back. Her grey hair was in a bun and her skin was fair. The girls could see her cheeks blush, "Sorry my dears, we had an emergency in the back. It's all good now. How may I help you?" she says sweetly. Annabelle gets up walking towards the counter where all the pastries and sweet were while Kanami still stands in the middle of the doorway still awing at the place before her.
Looking at the many sweets, Annabelle smiles and says politely, "I hope everything is alright and if its not much trouble I would like a blueberry tart, a plain bangle, along with a large mocha frappe and a large black coffee please." The old women smiles brightly and walks away into the back once more and returning with two plastic cups along with two lids. The old lady also grabs the tart and bangle and hands it to Annabelle.
Annabelle clenches at her book bag and takes out a small amount of yen and then places it on the counter. "That should be enough yen including a tip." She walks towards Kanami, as Annabelle slightly taps her on her shoulder and in return Kanami suddenly moves. "This place is amazing!" Kanami blurts out, "It has to be our new hangout. I'll refuse to go anywhere else!" Annabelle laughs silently and hands Kanami her bangle and coffee.
It has been about an half hour since the girls have been in the cafe. They laughed and joked about the students and their teachers at the school they were attending. And how their school uniforms was the laughing stalk of the schools surrounding there's.
"I just hate this green tie," Annabelle complains, "and what's worse is how I make my mom help me put it on." Kanami bursts out laughing making the coffee she was drinking, spill all over the table as she spit it out. Annabelle eyes grew wide as Kanami cheeks grew red. "Oh I'm so sorry, it was just so funny I couldn't help myself. I feel so ashamed." Kanami says suddenly as she gets up to go get napkins.
"It's okay, I find it funny how you spilled coffee everywhere. Here, let me help you clean it up." Annabelle offers. Kanami hands Annabelle some napkins and they begin to clean up the mess.
"Well, well, what do we have here," a voice says suddenly. Kanami quickly stands up wearing a defensive look on her face. "Leave us alone" she scowls showing the person her fists. Annabelle turns around a see's a group of people her age all wearing a different school uniform. The guy behind her has light orange hair with bangs hanging towards the left. He had his hair spiked in the back too. Beside him was another male who looked exactly like him, but intend his bangs where towards the right. They stood very tall. Beside the look-a-like was a smaller male with short brown hair and brown eyes. He had bangs that went towards the left. And behind them stood three other males. One was tall with short spiky black hair who carried a small child with blonde hair. Then lastly, a tall pale, short hair man with glasses. Annabelle promptly realizes what school they attended to.
"You remember when I thought our uniforms were bad, I forgot about theirs. Only problem why they don't get made fun of is because they will run to their daddies who will pay off the people making fun of them." Kanami says rudely. Annabelle stands there silently staring at her friend and the group of people standing behind her.
"Tmk" says the man with the glasses, "that's very kind enough for you to say as your school barley has enough money as it is." "Yeah and I hear that you actually have to pack your lunch." says the orange head men.
"Guys, quit it." The short brown hair boy snaps. He moves closer towards Annabelle and Kanami. "Hi, my name is Haruhi and they can be a bunch of well snobs at times." Annabelle bows to him. "My name is Annabelle its very nice to meet you." Kanami stands there more a moment and rolls her eyes as Annabelle looks at her in confusion. "I'm Kanami and you are right, you are a bunch of snobs." She says coldly as she glares at the group in front of her.
Suddenly a tall guy with curly blonde hair and bright blue eyes shows up who wasn't in the group before. "What did you say to my daughter!" He says dramatically yelling getting up into Kanami and Annabelle face waving his fist in the air. "Daughter?" Annabelle asks. "Why-"
"Tamaki stop being so dramatic." Haruhi says bluntly. He looks at the two girls with an annoyed look on his face, "I'm sorry about that. He can be a bit worrisome." Annabelle nods, "its alright. I completely understand. Well we should probably be going anyways," she says getting up and looking at her phone, signally Kanami," It was nice meeting you...all." Annabelle's eyes landing on all the males in front of her.
Her heart was pounding loudly as she made it outside. She turns to Kanami. "What was that about?" She yelled. Kanami shrugged and continues walking, "Its a school rivalry."
"So," Annabelle responds, "you still could have been nicer!" "Yeah I could have, but I'm not. I hate those types of people." She says defensively. "I'm those types of people." Annabelle quickly mentions. Kanami stops and turns around, "I didn't mean you and besides you go to our school and you are one amazing person." Annabelle smiles and points down the street, "thanks and let's check out the dogs!"
