Michael sat in his room, heartbroken. His girlfriend of two years had just broken up with him, and worst of all, it was his birthday. She was everything to him, and pretty much all he had.
Michael was alone.
He was used to it though, as his mom passed away about ten years ago, and his dad was an alcoholic.
Michael practically raised himself, and now at age seventeen, it's his only option.
Catching him by surprise, his father walked in, sitting beside him on his bed.
"Listen, I know what it's like to lose someone you love. When we lost your mom, I thought everything was over. But listen.. By the time I was your age, I'd give anything. To fall in love truly, was all I could think. That's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams. The most beautiful woman, that I'd ever seen. She said, "Boy can I tell you a wonderful thing?I can't help but notice, you're staring at me. I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe, I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me." Now, son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things."
