9. Boy's POV
James looked around on the platform after he arrived with his parents; bidding them farewell and being told to not get into any trouble this year. He was searching for his friends but most of all for a familiar redhead he had became smitten with last year. He soon saw his redhead come through the pillar, and was about to follow her but was distracted by the familiar voice of his best friend, Sirius Black; who was walking away from his angry parents, who were yelling at him.
The two boarded the train and placed their belongings in their compartment. Remus soon appeared taking his seat and pulling out a book to read. James couldn't persuade Remus to help him find Evans so, it was just him and Sirius wandering the train looking for the familiar head of red hair. They soon spotted a redhead in a compartment with a girl with curly brown hair and a girl with ginger straight hair. James bursts through the door making a dramatic entrance, calling out to the girl he believed to be Evans. Once the mix up was corrected a girl with platinum blonde hair that was almost white came up to them, looking for a seat. After awhile James and Sirius left to go discuss the girls they've meet with Remus.
Remus sat in his seat, with his book to his face, listening to the two boys talk about who they meet while searching for Evans. Remus finally and only placed his book down when James talked about Evans having a cousin that could also do magic, but never spoke about her at all. Sirius added that Rose said ever since Evans found out she was a witch, she acted like she was better than everyone around her age or younger, when she came home. Which was very weird considering people thought of Evans as being nice to everyone, and wouldn't act like that at all. Remus just said watch how the two act to each other when they get to Hogwarts to see for themselves; which James agreed to.
James however took Sirius, Remus, and Peter back to the girls' compartment, which filled up, so the boys sat on the floor talking to them until they had to leave to change; for Hogsmeade Station was pulling up soon. The boys told the girls to follow Hagrid, the giant, since he brings in the first years; and to not fear him since he's really nice.
The boys entered the Great Hall which consisted of six tables. All the students noticed the new table immediately and wondered who or what it was for. James looked down the table spotting Evans and her friends talking, most likely about the new table. James wanted to go down there and ask her why she never spoke of her cousin, but Remus stopped him saying it was probably a surprise for Lily by Rosemary. So James just left it at that and looked towards the doors. After everyone was seated, McGonagall entered the hall with the first years.
