41. Chapter Forty One

Natalia's POV

"You son of a bitch." Jason laughed, standing up from my side. He cracked his knuckles and walked slowly to the unrecognizable man behind the medic.

"Jason," I warned.

"Jason, I promise to be a better person. I will be there for you. I promise to be a good father to you. Bullshit! You put lies into people's minds, make them see you as a good person and then just... what? Cause them brain injury? Hit them with your car? Cause permanent damage to your niece!?" My hands couldn't work fast enough, I couldn't move fast enough to catch Jason from leaping across the medic to his intoxicated father.

"Jason!" I yelled, struggling to get him off of his father. My hands were too weak, his shirt just slipped through my fingers, making me fall onto my boyfriend and the current fight going on. Hands grabbed my waist and flung me onto my feet, steadying me. Next, was Jason. Addison threw Jason over to me, making sure I caught Jason from flinging back to his father. My guess, his father was already a dead man, this was Jason just taking out his anger.

"Calm down, Jase. Calm down." I whispered, trying to run my hands through his hair, but his hands caught mine and brought them back down to my side, but I brought them back to his arms, holding him tightly in place.

"I am calm!" Jason yelled, fighting my grip.

"Hey, hey, think about Tommy and how he will think of you if you beat up your father. He learns from what's around him, right? He sees you do this, he'll do it one day. You do this, you'll forever look back on it. Don't give yourself or Tommy that pain. You're better than your father is, Jason. Look at you and how far you've come. You're better than him in so many ways. In being a man, a boyfriend, a best friend and a father. He can't be any of those things but look at you. You're doing an amazing job at all of this. Don't ruin that now, babe."

"What the hell is going on out here? I can hear screaming all the way from the hospital room. Spence, what are you doing here?" Sally asked, putting her hand on Jason's shoulder.

"He was driving the other car. He's the reason why Bria's in the hospital. He caused it," I replied.

"He caused a lot more than just Bria being in the hospital," Jason whispered.

"Enough from you! Go over to the corner." I said.

"B-"

"Corner, now. And take Tommy with you. Maybe he can calm you down."

"Treat me like a damn child," he whispered.

I crossed my arms, "wanna say that louder?"

"Nope. I'm already on the couch tonight, don't need to sleep with Macey again. Been there, done that. No more princess beds."

"Oh, this time it would be in the damn shed outside. Corner, Jason, now! Do not make me say it again." He rolled his eyes but followed my demands. "I swear, it's like I'm raising two kids here,"

"Alright, Talia, you, um... take care of Jase for me. He seems to listen to you more than me right now. I'll, um, handle this." Sally said. I nodded and walked over to the corner where my apparent two children sat, one with his legs crossed and his head down and the other picking his socks off with his small fingers and putting them back into his mouth and touching his legs.

"My poor baby," I sighed, sitting next to Tommy.

"Well, yeah, my father p-"

"I was talking about Tommy. He's teething, my poor little guy."

"Once again, the kid is taking everything away from me. Attention. Life. School. Friends. Family. Sex. Even my own damn girlfriend."

"This girlfriend happened to bore you this child, so I would watch what you say. And anyways, what's going on with you? You're so... negative towards me. Ever since you talked about us moving, you've been giving me the death stares you give Addison after he steals your pancakes in the morning, and frankly, I'm tired of having two sides to you, it's either you're extremely happy and flirty with me, or you're angry and hatred at me. I never know which one I'm gonna get and it's seruously pissing me off."

He sighed, "tell me about Amber,"

"About Amber? I tell you all of this, and you want to know about Amber? The girl you tried to get with?"

"That was years ago, and yes, tell me about Amber. Take my mind off of everything. Take your mind off of everything."

"Alright... well, um, nobody else knows. Not even Jackson. She was puking her guts out one morning and I suggested she could be pregnant. We got a test that day and test came out positive. We booked an ultrasound and it's true. She's about one month along, but she doesn't want to tell Jackson yet, in case there's... well... complications."

"Understandable. We did the same thing," he whispered, I nodded and put my head against the wall behind me.

I sighed, "you're right,"

"I am?" I nodded, "I am. Um, a--about what?"

"Moving. You're right, we need to get away from everything. From our pasts. It's not healthy for us to stay here and fight like we do. Sleeping on the couch? With Macey? Threatening each other... it's not healthy and it's not good parenting, especially in front of our child," I explained. "Look, you have to understand I had my whole life out before I met you. I had a career in mind, a life in mind and a future. Marry a doctor, get a business degree and start something big and new in Manhattan. Have children in my late twenties, early thirties, have a nice house, a nice car. But... once you came along, I knew my plan would change just from the way I felt around you. There were no expectations, no faking anything. I was me and you were you. You didn't ask for anything and I didn't ask for anything. I didn't think I would fall for you, but I did and I stopped planning my life. I went with the flow but still had my hopes. Once Tommy came around, I was left with one thought; my plan is ruined. And it was. I had a child to take care of, no more planning my life and sitting out waiting for something to happen. I was.... actually happy, you know? My mom didn't pressure me with grades, Zac didn't talk to me about boys. Uncle Cile didn't ask how I was doing anymore. Amber was the first person who knew how I felt about you, and the first person we told about Tommy. She's my sister, Jason and she needs me during this time. She never left my side and I don't want to leave hers."

"Natalia, I love you and I love Amber and Jackson. Jackson is my brother and I know you love him too, but look at everything holding us back. We can't go to the Hamptons without being called from someone about something happening. You can't even go to the bathroom without having to worry about something going wrong. Hell, I can't even go for a drive on my motorcycle without having to get pulled over every time because my name is in the system. We need to get a new start, somewhere new, somewhere people don't know who we are. Make new friends and keep our old ones. Start a new life, but have our old one still wth us. This was a big thing for me, too, if you haven't noticed. You changed me and continue to change me each time I see you walk through a door. I knew my plan was completely done for the moment you walked into my room wearing shorts two years ago. We have memories here, I know, but we also need to live our lives happily. We're young, I know, but we have to step away from our life here and start a new one somewhere better. Somewhere far away."

"Can I think about it?" I asked, looking to him.

"Of course. I don't expect you to give me an answer now. But when you're ready to give me an answer, we'll talk it through, like we always do and we'll go from there." I nodded and laid my head on his shoulder.
