"Draco, please listen to me!" Luna pleaded.
"Save it, Lovegood, I don't want to hear it," Draco replied.
"It wasn't what it looked like!" Luna cried, ignoring the small pricks of tears in the corner of her eyes.
He was on his way back to the Slytherin common room after breakfast the only time she could catch him alone. She was trying to explain but he just wouldn't listen!
"Oh yeah?" Draco sneered turning to face her, "you know what it looked like to me? (Luna shook her head slightly) It looked like you were snogging Longbottom! LONGBOTTOM of all people!"
He started walking again.
"Draco! He kissed me! Not the other way around!" Luna tried to explain.
"You seemed to be enjoying yourself," Draco said, his voice as cold as ice and growing icier with every word.
"Your supposed to be my boyfriend and listen to my side of things like this-"
Draco cut her off, "I don't have to do that because I am not your boyfriend. And if I was it would mean you would be loyal to me not snogging ever guy in the street!"
He quickened his pace.
Luna, now running to keep up, said, "He asked me if he still had a chance with me, I told him he didn't, then he told he had to do something since he wouldn't be able to. I didn't know what he was going to do until it was too late! Please forgive me, and believe me."
Her voice was almost a whisper by the end and Draco seemed to soften before stiffening up again. Draco snorted.
"Go back where you belong, Ravenclaw," He said as he turned around and pushed her to the ground.
Tears sprung to Luna's eyes and as tears slowly fell down her face she whispered, "you said you loved me," before getting up and running back up the stairs and through the dimly lit halls.
On her way to the bathroom she passed Cho, Hermione, and Ginny.
"Luna?" Ginny called, "Are you alright?"
When she didn't respond all three girls jumped to their feet and followed her.
"No I am most certainly NOT alright," she thought to herself before locking the stall door and falling to the ground her sobs breaking lose.
There was a soft knocking on the door.
"Luna?" Came the voice of Hermione, "what's wrong?"
Luna's even harder sobs answered her.
"Luna, you need to come out or we're coming in," came Cho's voice.
Luna stood up and unlocked the door, tears still rolling down her cheeks.
"Oh Luna! You look awful! What happened?" Cried Ginny who had ran up and hugged her.
Luna's hair was ruffled and coming out of the bun she had worked so hard on, her makeup was smudged and smeared from her tears, and her clothes were rumpled and untucked from her hast to get as far away as possible from Draco. Luna sat on the counter redoing her hair, makeup, and clothes as she told them about what happened with Draco and Neville.
"That little git!" Shouted Ginny, "When I get my hands on him I'll-"
"No!" Cried Luna, "I love him even if he doesn't love me! Don't hurt him!"
Hermione looked at her than said,"Draco is wrong about you being disloyal, he just broke your heart and her you are still defending him."
Just then there was knocking at the bathroom door.
The girls looked at each other before Ginny went and opened the door and said, "Somebody else should come here and get this before I kill him!"
Hermione and Cho looked at each other. Cho went to the door.
"I came to see Luna," said a voice.
"She doesn't want to see you right now," Cho answered calmly keeping the door open only a crack and trying to slowly shut it.
"Luna please-" the voice said sounding desperate and their voice cracking at the end.
Luna jumped off the counter feeling fresh and squeezed next to Cho, who stopped trying to close the door. Luna found herself face to face with Draco.
"What do you want?" She asked coldly feeling small tears of anger trying to cloud her vision.
He looked hurt, upset, and desperate as he started to speak
