Luna sighed heavily. Everyone kept asking her about Draco. She couldn't stay here where everyone was pressing her for answers. She strode through the halls to the library. Luna sat at a table in the middle of the empty library, sighing again as she pulled out a book. After a while she slammed the book down on the table and she folded her arms over her head. "Not liking the books?" Asked a voice she knew so well. Luna smiled as she looked up, and sure enough there was Draco. He smirked at her as he crossed his arms in front of him and leaned on a bookshelf. "Hi, Draco," she said. "Hey Love, listen I can't do this anymore I've already been asked out three times!" He said laying his head on her shoulder as if he was very worn out. " I know what you mean I hate lying to them," Luna replied, "except I haven't been asked out." Draco pulled her onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her. "So, do we have an agreement?" He asked. Luna nodded. They sat there for a moment before they were interrupted by a shocked voice from the door. "Wait!" Said the voice, "I thought you guys broke up!" They turned and saw Harry Standing there starstruck. Draco glanced at Luna with a look that said 'it never happened' before turning and saying, "Who told you that?" ending with rolling his eyes. "Cho, she was there when Luna got back," Harry said his eyes growing bigger by the second. "Check your source, Potter because clearly we're together," Draco said harsher than he should have. "Oh Luna," Draco said clearly trying to annoy Harry, "Would you like to come to my house for Christmas?" Luna's eyes widened in joy. "Are you kidding? I would LOVE to!" She shrieked. Draco glanced at Harry and saw him staring at them disbelieving. "Hey Potter, it's impolite to stare!" He yelled at him. "Oh Draco," Luna suddenly cried out, "Meet me in the owlery in twenty minutes!" With that she jumped up and left the library swiftly. Draco laughed at the look on Harry's face. Harry glared at him. "How does she put up with you?" He asked. "Because I'm irresistible!" Draco said matter-of-factly, grinning innocently. Harry turned and left only making Draco laugh harder.
Twenty minutes later! ;)
Luna skipped merrily up the steps of the owlery clutching a sliver box to her chest. She was looking forward to seeing Draco's face when she gave him the gift. As she opened the door to the owlery a horrible sight met her eyes. Her eyes widened at the sight of Cho snogging Draco to the ends of tomorrow. She dropped the box she was carrying and rushed down the stairs almost running into Neville. Tears were streaming down her face as she mumbled sorry to him. "Oh, hey Luna how-- are you okay?" He started realizing something was wrong. Luna chocked back a sob as she ran into the closest girls bathroom. Neville pounded determinedly on the door trying to get her to come out. "Just go away!" Luna cried sobbing in the last stall. He finally did, but he had not been gone for five minutes when the door opened and two pairs of footsteps walked in. "Luna, are you okay?" Asked Ginny. Luna looked up and saw the feet of Ginny and most likely Hermione standing outside the door. "No, I'm not alright!" She cried, "My best friend is snogging my boyfriend!" There was silence as they processed this information. "Luna, who was snogging Mal- Draco?" Hermione asked. "Cho, Cho-Chang my new non friend." Luna said wiping away some of the tears still running down her face. "Luna, please come out Neville wants to talk to you," Ginny said. Sighing, Luna got up and opened the door to reveal Ginny and Hermione standing there with comforting smiles on their faces. Suddenly, the walls were closing in, she couldn't breath, all she knew was she that she had to get out of there, out of Hogwarts. The grounds! She thought as she began to run hurriedly out of the bathroom. As she fled she heard Neville say, "it's okay I'll go after her she'll listen to me." She was almost to the door when a figure came out of nowhere, and she ran directly into their arms, which closed around her. "Draco!" Luna cried struggling, "you have to let me go... Neville-" In her struggling she accidentally stepped on his foot and he released her. Luna ran to the door and yanked it open, ignoring the voices calling her back. She ran to the lake collapsing next to it. It was too hot. She yanked off her robe, along with her shoes and socks, before shoving her feet in the nipping water. The crisp air swirled around her pushing and pulling at her hair. "Luna?" Said a voice. She jumped having been to lost in her thoughts to hear him approach. With a hand on her heart she turned and saw Neville. "Neville! What happened?" She cried realizing that he was nursing a bleeding nose and had a black eye. "Oh... Um... Y-your boyfriend thought I had hurt you. We both look like this," he said looking embarrassed. Luna gave a half smile than realized that her pants where wet up to her knees. Looking down she saw she was sitting knee-deep in the shallow bank of the lake. With another glance at Neville she started to feel dizzy. "L-Luna?" Neville started. But Luna had fallen over and could hear Neville cry some muffled words, and a group of people start rushing over, growing fuzzier by the second. The darkness completely enclosed her as Neville leaned over her murmuring words of comfort.
