"I don't care," came the familiar voice of Draco Malfoy.
"I don't care Parkinson!" He said as they drew closer.
"Ah, so that was the other voice," Luna thought to herself.
She was wedged in between two huge statues half skimming the book on her lap, half listening to the scene unfold behind her.
"I don't need gossip to complete my life like you do Parkinson," Draco drawled on.
Luna could practically hear the tears in her eyes.
"I won't take this!" Pansy cried, " I won't stop still and look pretty (Note the lyrics XD) while you insult me! I'll find someone that will treat me right......Goodbye......Malfoy."
Pansy ran off her footsteps echoing through the silent corridor. Slowly Luna peeked out from her hiding spot and saw Draco sneering after Pansy. Suddenly Draco turned around. Luna pulled her head back as fast as she could, her heart racing. "He saw me! I know he did! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" She thought angrily. It was quiet a few minutes and Luna started to relax, tucking her long blond hair behind her ear
."Didn't your mother ever tell you it was wrong to spy?" came a voice to her right.
She jumped and swung her head towards the voice narrowly missing hitting her head on the statue in the process. There was Draco Malfoy, leaning on the statue in front of her, one hand above his head the other laying limply at his side, smirking. Luna bit her lip.
"My mother was an extraordinary witch, then one day one of her spells went wrong....." Luna replied trailing off as she felt wetness in the corners of her eyes.
His face fell.
"I'm sorry," he said.
She shook her head softly. Draco extended his hand out to her and she hesitated only a moment before taking it. His hand was surprisingly soft and warm against her own.He pulled her to her feet and she felt a small spark in her stomach as her book fell to the ground, unnoticed.
"You know you shouldn't talk to Pansy that way" Luna said, "She could do so much better."
" It doesn't matter seeing as she broke up with me....but you already knew that," he said softly looking into her gray eyes.
Luna was about to express her sympathy when he said, "It's not like it matters though I was going to dump her later anyway"
Luna felt a jolt of anger towards him for his lack of curtsy for other people's feelings and a pang of sympathy for Pansy.
"Everyone is right, you are just an arrogant, selfish, disloyal, bullying-"
What else he was he didn't find out because She was cut off by Draco's sudden outburst of laughter.
"Oh Lovegood!" He said doubled over in laughter, "where did you learn all that? Maybe you should be in Slytherin, not Ravenclaw!"
Draco laughed harder at the disbelieving look Luna gave him.
"Do you know why I'm in Ravenclaw?" Luna asked her voice small.
Draco straightened up suppressing his laughter.
"Because of your bossy nature?" He asked innocently.
"Ugh!" Luna breathed as she turned sharply on her heel and left.
He distinctly heard her mutter, "slimy git!" As she turned the corner. Draco's eye's darted to her hiding spot and he saw a blue and gold charms book laying there. He gently picked up like it was a priceless artifact and inspected the inside cover. 'Luna Lovegood' was engraved in it with what looked like golden ink. Draco decided he would give it to her tomorrow. "Another excuse to see her," he though to himself as he headed for the Slytherin common room.
