8. First Date
Three months had past since the funeral. Kyoko was attending Ouran Academy. She was in the same class as Hatori, she was only six months older than him. The three of us were doing fairly well in our studies. I was actually feeling chipper most days thanks to Kyoya. Our relationship was going on strong.
He took me out every other week and we hung out at the host club most days. I usually sat in a back corner to avoid the other girls. This is only because I was very nearly attacked the first day Kyoya and I shared a kiss. I also have to be careful in the hall, I've already been tripped by a few jealous girls. They never tried anything thing in class because of the teachers.
We actually haven't been on a real date yet, but that's to change Sunday. He says it's a surprise, he doesn't let anything slip out. I'm nervous about it, this is supposed to be a wonderful day for both of us but I didn't know if I would be wonderful then.
Sunday came fast. Kyoya told me that I didn't have to dress formally, but nothing to casual either. I was already ready when he rang the doorbell. I wore this: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=20921... as I answer the door.
"You look beautiful this evening, my dear," Kyoya kissed my hand after complimenting me. He was dressed in a simple white button down shirt with black slacks and black leather shoes that were shines enough to reflect light.
"Thank you, Kyoya, and you look handsome tonight," I replied. "Would you lie to come in for a bit?" I smiled at him sweetly.
"I'm sorry to decline that invitation, milady, but my plan for us tonight leave now room for that." He returned my smile and I giggled at his response. He then took my hand and started to walk me out to his car when a voice behind us make Kyoya turn.
"Be sure to have her home before 11," I heard Kyoko say. I started laughing, is was funny how she was acting, yet it also saddened me. I had to choose the better of the two options, I had make-up on and I didn't like red eye when I'm in public, or anywhere that I'm not by myself. "I know, Ayame, I sound just like mom....." I stopped laughing because Kyoko sounded so sad. "I'll see you later, Imouto."
"I'll be home later, Oneesan," I told her. I heard the door shut as Kyoya continued to lead me to his car. Once in his driver nodded to him and we were off. After twenty minute, Kyoya helped me out of the car. When I saw where we where, I hugged him. He had brought me to a restaurant named Tachibana. This restaurant was popular with the other girls in Ouran Academy, though I am the only one who knew what the restaurant was really like.
As Kyoya lead me into Tachibana, I noticed the place was almost empty. I had a feeling that he wanted it that way. We sat at a table near the back. When they asked for our drink orders, I had asked for lemonade and he got water. For food, he got Oudon (spelling please) and I got Yakitori (again spelling please). We had some small talk while we waited for our food.
When our food came, we ate in relative silence. I finished first, even though I was eating at a snail pace because I wanted us to spend as much time together as possible. I watched he meticulously chew each bite of his food. It was interesting for a few minutes but then I looked at his hair as it moved.
After he finished eating, he paid. He led me back out to the car and we were out to the next destination. He was keeping every part of this night a surprise. I was amazed that such a thing was possible for a moment before remembering that it was Kyoya. He had probably spent the last week discussing the plan with his driver.
Our next stop was at a firework show. Such a commoner thing but it was enjoyable all the same. There was one more stop after that and it was a private mini concert. The only other people there were extremely wealthy. It was amazing how he planned out such a night. He ended it by giving me a kiss before I went inside my house.
