“Hitomi!” I hear Allen yell, but I don’t stop. I just keep running letting what just happen fall behind me, as I feel the wind on my cheeks. I end up in the stables, where they keep the spare horses, and one in particular catches my eye. She is so pretty, she is solid black with an occasional white stripe in her mane. I grab a brush near by and flutter into her pin, and I start to brush her. I had no idea how much time past, but I could hear people running and my name being called. I’m talking to this beautiful Mare, when the pink haired twin, Navie, finds me.
“We have been looking for you every where Atlantean.” that catches my attention.
“What have I done to you, to treat me like this?” I ask, getting tired of her and her sister either glaring at me, and now the names. Well now it is just her, I guess in the sparring I gained her sister’s respect but this one, I don’t know.
“You took Lord Allen from us, or me in particular.” I sigh and go back to brushing the mare, which I have been calling Midnight.
“Allen never liked you that way, he told me himself. He couldn’t stand seeing you to be taken and sold as slaves.” I look at her. “Even if you don’t believe me, I would have done the same as him. Where I’m from, we no longer have slaves and it is considered wrong to sell one, or even own one, no matter how rare they are. They are people not property,” that quickly shut her up. That is when Allen comes running in.
“Hitomi, thank the gods that you are safe.” I look at him, questioningly.
“I thought something bad happened for you. We’ve been looking for you over five hours, we are already in Palas.” That in itself shocked me.
“How long have we been here?”
“We have been here for an hour.” I look down.
“I’m sorry, I was enjoying brushing Midnight, I lost track of time. I love being around horses.” he tilts his head and smiles.
“It’s fine, the men has already took your stuff to my house, well now our house, and you will be able to meet my little sister.”
“Your little sister? I thought she disappeared and was never found.” he smiles sheepishly.
“Well it is a long story. I’ll tell you when you meet her, or I can have her tell you. She under stands it better than I do.” I nod, as I put up the horse brush, and flutters out of her pin. I look back at her longingly, and if I knew better I would say that she is doing the same. “Do you want to keep her?” I nod again, but more enthusiastically. “Navie, can you saddle her up and ride her to my house please?” Navie smiles really big, which once again made me want to claw her eyes out.
“Of course, Commander.” with that she starts to saddle up Midnight while I take Allen’s arm, and he leads me to a coach, which takes us to his house.
