Alison ran to the water and dived into it she then removed her top and waved it in the air at Mickey who was up like a shot and down to the water’s edge. He dived under the water then lifted Alison clean out of it. Alison was bigger breasted than Shirley thought Tom but he preferred Shirley’s body to Alison’s as he rubbed sun cream into Shirley’s back. The temperature had risen and it was in the high eighties now. Without realising it both Shirley and Tom had caught the sun.
Tom lay down on his back and nodded off for half an hour, he had rolled up his other beach towel and used it as a pillow for his head. Micky and Alison frolicked in sea for over and hour before coming out. Mickey shook the seawater from his hair over Tom which woke him up with a stir.’
“Wake up sleepy head said Mickey as he dried himself off.’
Tom sat up then immediately went into the bag under his sun bed and pulled out a bottle of Orangina and drank it. Mickey asked Tom to pass the bag over so that he and Alison could get a drink.’
“Would you like one Shirley?’
“No I’m alright for now thanks.’
How long have we got before we have to go back to the bus.’
Tom went into the bag again and pulled out his watch and put it on his wrist.
It’s nearly twenty past five; I think we should be heading back now.’
They packed their things and Alison wrapped a sarong around herself and folded her shorts. Mickey put on his sandals and threw on his tee shirt.
They walked back the way they had come and the heat of the sun had dried their costumes when they reached the coach. Mickey and Tom put on their shorts before getting back on the coach.
They sat opposite each other and Maureen and Keith sat in front. They told them that they had walked for a good ten miles talking photographs. They stopped outside a tapas bar and had lunch then walked back.’
“We went to the market and then onto the beach. We went for a swim which was really nice.’
“Make sure you lather yourselves with after sun as you are all quite red.’
“I thought my face was burning said Shirley as the coach pulled away and headed back to the hotel. Alison and Mickey were fast asleep within fifteen minutes of boarding the coach. The combination of drink, the heat, and sea air had made them tired.’
Keith sat reading an English newspaper as Maureen chatted to Shirley.’
Do you think we will get back in time for dinner?
“Yes, the hotel serves meals until ten o’clock.’
“That’s good, I thought we were going to have to go out somewhere to a restaurant.’
“The hotels are aware of the excursions and cater accordingly.’
“Where are you going tomorrow?’
“I think we are spending the day in La Cala; we will just get a taxi there as it is not far.’
“What are you all doing?’
“I don’t really know but I am interested in ancient history and I would like to go to a museum. Is there any on the island?’
Yes, there are at least three that you can visit that I know of.’ There’s the Maritime museum Paseo de Conlon,’ The Casa Museo, which is held in a 19th century building and the Paseo de la Carretara.’ They have some fine sculptures, paintings, and ancient artefacts to look at and once more it is free to get in.’
“That’s good maybe we can go tomorrow Tom.’
