G'day, my names Stevie. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. Not anywhere fancy, like the city, or anything like that, I grew up about 30-45 minutes away from the city in the suburb Morphett Vale. It's nothing flash, it's actually a real shithole, but I still love it because it's where I grew up.
I'm still a teenager and I have to admit I am nowhere near that perfect girl. I don't have that hourglass body like Kim Kardashian, maybe if I lost a few kilos. I'm not the best looking girl, I don't have great style but I really don't care. I never really cared all that much about that kind of stuff growing up, because my mum always taught me to not be the sheep in any situation, she told me to alway be myself. It actually paid off if I'm honest.
When I was in grade 10 I met a guy, he was the sweetest person I've ever met. He wasn't in Adelaide for that long, just a few days, he has family in good old Adelaide. This was like 2 and a half years ago, I'm now 18, turning 19 in a few months. I met this particular guy at a crappy high school party and we have been in touch ever since.
I've been holidaying in Bali for about 4 months now and I've been having the most amazing time ever, but it's time to go home.
The way to the Balinese airport was sort of sad for me because I know I will miss the culture and the people. I have very pale skin and every time I'd go to a market they all found me so fascinating. I think I'd miss that alone, people finding me interesting I mean.
Once I land back home my whole family was waiting for me with signs saying, "welcome home Stevie!" And all that kind of stuff. It was a little embarrassing but it was sweet. This guy Tom who I've had a crush on since I started high school was also there with all my closest friends. There were so many people there for me, it did make me feel special.
After we went through the security in the airport, we all headed to a restaurant to go have lunch. I went in the car with all my mates. My friend Zeke was driving and next to him was Sophie. In the back was Tom, Jules and I. They were bombarding me with questions that were all too similar, and all had similar answers like, "It was so cool," or, "I had so much fun".
I don't know why but I kept looking at my phone, but Jules kept noticing every time I did.
"Calum is in Adelaide at the moment." She told me without looking me in the eyes.
I looked at her and smiled. I unlocked my phone and texted him.
Hey Calum, I just got back from Bali and I heard you're in town. We are all heading to Charlie's Diner for lunch if you wanted to come with. - Stevie xx
I pressed send and locked my phone. On the way to the all you can eat diner I fell asleep. Tom woke me up and we all went inside. My mum and dad were already there with my grandparents, my cousins (on both sides), my brother and sister, and a few other close mates. I sat next to my best friend Vanessa, we have known each other for fourteen years. After a few chats and some special gifts that some people bought for me, we all got up and had some food to eat.
"Stevie," Vanessa says while tapping on my shoulder. I looked at her and she nodded her head to the entrance. Calum was standing there.
I put my plate on one of the benches and ran over to him. I jumped into his arms, "Oh god I've missed you!" I told him while breaking from the hug.
"I knew you would," he smirks after he speaks. I gave him a playful glare and took him to the table we were sitting at, he grabs my arm. "I did really miss you." He says. I smile and nod my head at him, while still walking to the table.
"Oh here he is!" My mother yells while standing up to hug him.
"For everyone who doesn't know who Calum is, his name is Calum and he is a great friend of mine." I say with a huge smile plastered on my face.
"Of course we know who he is, can I get a picture?" My cousin Denise says while pushing me out of the way and standing next to Calum.
Calum is in a band 5 Seconds of Summer. I know that they're pretty big in Australia at the moment but I didn't think my cousins would know who he is. Calum happily accepted to take photos with my family, and after all this we continued to get our food.
Once everyone finished eating it was time for all of us to go. All my mates were going to come around to my house and we're having a cute little party. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I say to my mum and dad.
"Yeah, we are going to Milang tonight to fix the caravan door, we should be home at around 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon. Is that OK with you?" My father responds.
"Yeah that's fine, I'll see you guys then." I say hugging them goodbye.
After I said my goodbyes to everyone, it was time to buy all the alcohol.
For all the non-Aussies I will make a vocabulary list at the end of nearly every chapter. Also if I miss any words feel free to ask me what they mean.
