Anna broke away from the kiss, her lips trembling.
"What's the matter?" Justin asked, tucking a loose curl behind her ear.
"It's just a little overwhelming." Anna answered. She didn't know how else to put it.
"I know." He smiled, leaning in again. This time though, Anna recoiled.
"I'm sorry, I... I can't do this." She stuttered, standing up. Her head was filled with thoughts of him, of his kindness, his sweetness, the way her body had trembled when his lips touched hers. It was too much, too soon. Truth be told, Anna was terrified of how much he affected her.
"Anna, wait!" Justin jumped up from the sofa and trailed after her as she headed towards the front door. Opening it, she turned to face him one last time. His honey coloured eyes burned in to hers, and she felt her resolve crumble. She wanted nothing more than to leap in to his arms and forget all about her fears. But she couldn't. He was a popstar, and she was just plain old Anna Edwards. It wouldn't work. He'd leave her for some supermodel and she'd be heartbroken, pining over him like some lovesick puppy.
"Anna, tell me what's going on in that head of yours. What can I do to make you stay a little while?" He asked tenderly.
"Nothing is going on. I'm leaving because it's late and I have to get back to Lily. It was wonderful meeting you, Justin. I may even start listening to your music now." She added, trying to make a joke. He just smiled at her sadly.
"What I'd give to see inside your mind right now..." He mumbled. Anna just turned in her cute little shoes, and made her way to the elevator, feeling his eyes burning in to her with every step. She pressed the button, and used every ounce of her strength to resist turning to look at him. The doors opened, and she stepped inside and turned around. He was still there, looking as hot as sin. Anna sighed, and went to push the button for her floor. The second she took her eyes off him, he ran to the elevator, grabbing her by the shoulders and pushed her against the wall of the elevator. Anna was too shocked and excited to do much more than gawp at him. He ran his fingertips up and down her arm, and then kissed her with such passion, her legs buckled. If it wasn't for his other arm, snaked around her waist, she would have collapsed to the floor in a fiery heap. Her heart swelled as he kissed her, evoking a reaction in her so intense, she felt like crying.
"I don't want you to leave." He whispered in to her mouth. Anna, feeling brave, wrapped her hand around the back of his neck and pulled his mouth towards hers. They broke away after a minute or two, breathless. After a moment of gazing at each other, Anna knew she had to go, or her will would dissolve completely, and she'd never be able to leave.
"Goodbye, Justin." She smiled, her hand stroked his face tenderly. He smiled at her, a sad smile. Anna liked to think it was a smile of realisation, a realisation that something wonderful could have happened if only things were different. He backed out of the elevator and blew her a kiss as the doors closed. Knowing it was ridiculous, and that she'd only known him for a few hours, didn't stop the fat treacherous tear tumbling down her cheek.
