29. Getting Better

I ran to my next class, still getting there five minutes late. Worth it. I looked over at Meg and gave her a thumbs up. She smiled, I haven’t seen her smile all day so it was heart warming. She would be smiling even bigger once her and Zander get back together.

The class was a bore. Study this, read that, blah, blah, blah. Usually, being the nerd that I am, I loved class, but I had much more exciting things to do. The bell rang and I ran over to Meg who was waiting outside the door for me. We had planned this before-hand.

“So?” Meg’s anticipation was uncanny.

“Her and Zander never did it! She knew it was me prank calling her, so she was messing with us like usual. She also said some other stuff, but that isn’t important right now. So, are you going to talk to Zander?” I talked so fast I had to catch my breath.

“Are you sure?”

“I got it all on video.”

“I… I don’t know what I’m going to say to Zander! I slapped him for crying out loud! Ugh! What do I do?” Meg freaked.

“Just explain to him and apologize. He’ll forgive you, I’m sure of it.” I calmed.

“Thanks.” Meg said.

“It was no problem. It was kind of fun trapping Cass in a room.” I joked.

“I can’t believe she just told you everything!’ Meg smiled.

“Well, Cass is very… straight forward, I guess.” We laughed and headed to our next class, knowing things would get better.

Things did get better actually. Right after I told Meg everything, she went and talked to Jake. I don’t know what she said, but he obviously forgave her and they had a dinner date tonight. Wow, Meg works pretty fast when it comes to boys. It was nice though that things were going back to normal. I liked normal. Everything seemed to fit into place when it was normal. Also, trust me when I say this, if Meg and Zander had stayed broken up, nobody would want to be within five feet of Meg for at least a week! It’s a good thing no one has to worry though.

I finished up the school day focusing on the tasks at hand, and gliding through my homework. I was back into a normal routine. Normal. Funny how it can be just that, then it can change in an instant. That’s exactly what happened too.
