As I stood in front of the huge double doors to the castle with all my elites in front of me, I thought to myself, this hybrid is stronger than any of us could have ever expected but I will catch her. Even if it is the last thing I ever do. Samuel came up to stand beside me. "All 250 elites are present and accounted for. They are mostly equipped with M4's and M1911's filled with tracker darts that are laced with some tranquilizer. We have a few that are equipped with Intervention M200 sniper rifles. We are about to leave sir. Do you have anything you want say to your soldiers?" He asked in the politest way I have ever heard come out of his mouth. "Yes I do" I simply answered and took a few steps forward and looked out over them all. "Elites. Samuel have gathered you here for one purpose and one purpose only. Some of you may already know what your mission is but others might not. Your mission is to catch the hybrid before the other kings. Only Samuel knows the consequences of failing this mission so now I will tell all of you the same. If you come back, empty handed, then I will personally slaughter your entire family. Your mates, your pups and lastly you. I will force you to look at them as they take their last breath. So unless you want this then do not disappoint me" I finished yelling. In response to the threat I just put out against them, I got loud growls from everyone. "SILENCE" I yelled as loudly as I could both with my voice and through the mind link to make sure they heard me. "I do not care if you hate me for this. I have laws to uphold and one of them is being broken every day that hybrid is still allowed to live. So either you bring her here or your family is slaughtered in front of you" I said calmly as I didn't need to yell when they had all finally stopped growling. With that I simply turned around and walked past Samuel. But not before giving him an order. "Make sure she gets here alive" I whispered to him before going back inside the castle as I heard all of my elites scramble to move out and hunt the hybrid.
I decided that I would take today off from the usual work and spend some time with my beloved sister. As I stopped in front of my sister and Caleb's room I remembered that they had a pup on the way and just the thought of becoming an uncle made me happy. But it also made me anxious. I wanted to find my own mate and have my own pups. But for now my sister was the one with the happiness and I wasn't going to ruin it for her. I knocked on the door softly and not even a second later, Caleb opened it with a protective growl. "Be careful Caleb. If I hadn't come alone that could have been taken as treason" I said jokingly. "Aww you know how I get with Ashley and even more now. I can understand that you have also heard the great news" He said as he invited me into their room. "Yes. I found out last night after Samuel came to report to me about the mission I sent him on overseas" I said as calmly as I could when I was thinking about his disappointing results. "Don't worry we'll catch her sooner or later. Can I offer you a drink? I got a nice bottle of Scotch standing around that Ashley doesn't know about and if she did then she would kill me" He said jokingly. "What is it that I don't know about?" Ashley asked as she came slowly walking into the room. I looked at her. Her baby bump was already a little more visible. "Oh umm n-nothing dear" Caleb stuttered. I couldn't help but chuckled at the control that my sister had over her mate. "Don't be too harsh on him, Ashley" I said softly as I opened my arms to hug her. "Fine if you say so Salem" She responded as she closed the distance and hugged me tightly. An audible sound that was a lot like someone breathing out was heard and I knew that it had to Caleb that knew I had gotten him off the hook about the Scotch.
"So do either of you two have any plans for today?" I asked, hoping that the answer would be no as I wanted to spend time with the last bit of family I had left. "No I was actually planning on asking you if we could get the room next to ours to the baby" Ashley responded. "Of course. I'll talk to the people that live there and get them relocated to another room. Then you and Caleb can knock down the wall in between the rooms if you want" I said calmly.
Suddenly I sensed something happening at the borders of the castle. 'Border patrol, what's going on?' I mind linked every member of our border security. 'A couple of rouges have showed up just past the border. We can't hurt them as they haven't crossed the border. They demand to see you, sir' They responded. 'Fine. Make sure they don't move. I'll be there in five minutes' I told them. "I have to go" I said sternly. "What's wrong Salem?" Both of them asked. "A couple of rouges at the border is asking for me. They won't leave without talking to me and they haven't crossed the border so our border patrols can't do anything about them" I said quickly. "I'll go with you" Caleb said quickly and kissed Ashley goodbye before we both headed down to the front door to go to the border where the rouges were waiting.
Five minutes later we arrived at the border. "Where are the rouges?" I asked my border patrol sternly. "T-They are just over there" He responded and point over to the two men that I couldn't recognize.
"What do you want you filthy mutts?" I asked, almost yelling. "Calm down sir. We are here to give you some information" The tall one said calmly. "What kind of information is this and how can we know that it's not just made up?" I asked sternly. I had a feeling that I knew what it was about and if that was the case then I needed to call back Samuel and all the elites. "It's about someone that has a lot of interest to you. She's trying to come to America. And whether you believe it or not, well that's up to you. Just know that our source knows the time she will arrive, the place she will arrive and the ship name that she is aboard" He said calmly. With that they turned around and started to walk away. "What do you want for this information?" I asked. I needed to know if it was really about the hybrid and if it was about the hybrid then I needed to know all of it. "All we want is some peace from those filthy humans that run around our forest" The shorter one replied. "You know I can't give you that but I might be able to give you a small piece of territory that you can do anything you want with" I said calmly. "Fine but don't expect us to give up our source and don't expect that this is something that happens whenever you are hunting someone down" The tall one said. "You'll get the information in a letter in a couple of days and then you will have 2 to 3 days to get ready and catch her. If you won't be able to do that then don't come looking for our help" The short one added before they disappeared.
"Continue with the border patrol" I yelled out. I turned around and headed straight for the castle with Caleb right behind me. "Caleb I need to get a hold of Samuel and the elites, who is the fastest wolf we have here right now?" I asked calmly "Umm I think that would be Jon but didn't you put him and Alexander on Ashley's protection detail?" He responded. "Yes I did but right now I need the fastest we have and other me that's him. So please get him to meet me in my office as fast as you can" I said as we entered through the huge front doors of the castle and headed straight for my office. Not even two minutes later, Jon was entering my office. "Great Jon I need you to do something really important for me" I said to him. I knew he understood me despite the fact that he was a mute. 'Of course sir. What do you need?' He asked me through the mind link. "I need you to run as fast as you can and catch up with Samuel and the elites. I need you to tell them that they need to come back here as we have gotten some new intel for the hunt of the hybrid. If you do this in under 12 hours, then I'll grant you a place with our elites and you'll start your training as soon as the hybrid has been dealt with" I said. 'Of course sir. I'll have it done in 6 hours. I doubt they can have gotten too far considering all the gear they are carrying as well' He responded and turned around to leave my office. "May the gods and goddesses carry you on your journey" I muttered as he exited the office and left me to ponder what plan we could come up with.
Finally, after so many months we are actually going to know where she is going to be and we are going to catch her. I just know we will.
Question Of The Chapter - What is your dream job?
My answer - I have always wanted to be in the military. But there are some reason as to why that just isn't possible. Well it might be possible but I don't want to get my hopes up before I know anything. So right now my dream job is to either become a soldier or a writer or maybe even both.
