9. The hunter's lure part 4

At first Inoue is stunned to find Cilicia in her room.

"Where have you been?!" She whisper hisses.

Cilicia holds her finger to her mouth as she cocks her head.

Inoue pauses before speaking again.

"Well, how did it go?"

Cilicia shakes her head.

"Same here. I'm told that my brother had business elsewhere who knows when he'll return!" She huffs as she lies back in bed.

"I'm sorry I was really hoping to ask him what he knew but I have to be back at the castle for the engagement ceremony...well really back before he returns..."

Cilicia stares at the shopping bags and looks back to her with a "really?" face.

"It's for you! I've seen your wardrobe you know, I understand your adoptive Father wouldn't let you show too much skin but seriously you don't have any dresses or skirts- what will you wear to my wedding, denim?!"

She shakes her head again and holds her lips to her mouth when the door opens.

"Princess?" The guy from before enters the room only to place his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"Who's there? I know you're in here so show yourself!"

Inoue frowns at him.

"What are you doing?" she asks him.

"My job." He inches into the room eyes skimming the room before noticing the open window.

"You should be more careful Princess." He sighs as he slides it shut. He was about to leave the room when he pauses once more.

"Who were you talking to?" he asks.

"Eh?" Inoue blinks at him.

"What are you talking about?"

"You were already awake too..."

"I'm leaving tomorrow, you know you can stop." she waves him dismissively.

The boy studies her with narrow eyes before looking forward.

"Well, whatever."

"G'nite." She calls. He makes a face as he closes the door.

Cilicia emerges from beneath the sheets.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this..." Inoue whispers. "But... I got you a suitcase."
